Lucky 38!

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:03 am

OK! I finally made it to the strip and victor rolls on up. invites me to meet Mr. House. so I walk on up to the Lucky 38 go inside and they all start shooting at me! I've gone back and tried it again just to make sure and yup. still shooting at me Victor included. now I've read it has something to do with vault 11 but that really doesn't make much sense if House is like a main character in the game. besides starting over is there a work around or a fix for this???!?!?! This game seems to be full of so many bugs!!! I've ignored most of them but seriously!! this one is like the main story line!!!

I tryed this in my second playtrough. The first time I entered the Strip, I dont visit Mr. Home just after the invitation, but continue doing other things/quests.
When I finally decided to enter Lucy 38,the robots shoot at me.I had an old save from just before I entered the Strip the very first time, and loaded that one.
Then, to my big surprise I found Victor lying dead just outside Lucy 38 on the stairs.Again, when I entered I was shoot at.
On this playtrough, I was also surprised that it was not Victor who invited me inside, even my diagloge was the same (as spoken to Victor),and the robot spoke as Victor.
But I know for sure that this robot was one of the others, cuz the name sayed when aming at it,and Victor stood at the stairs.

I am in the same situation, as are many people. I've read that the code for House's robots are the same as the turrets in Vault 11. Shooting at those turrets make House's robots hostile towards you. I was going to load in an old save but that was way too many levels ago. I already built up a character that I was having fun with. I didn't want to roll back that far. I am hoping that they somehow fix this issue. I can't play through the main quest the way that I want to and I can't turn in the snow globes that I have. I am trying to avoid going into the Strip. The House Always Wins quest is supposed to trigger upon entering but for me and those stuck with this glitch it doesn't.

The same thing happened to me. You can still finish the game you just have to side with Mr. Yes Man after dealing with Benny at the Tops Casino. You can even use the suite at the Lucky 38 after you do.

This might be stupid, but have you tried waiting 3 or more consecutive days outside of the Lucky 38?
NPCs that are not not in a faction that is hostile to you are programmed to "forgive" actions like stealing and murder after 3 days. If you are like me you just fast travel anywhere and sleep 1 hour at a time to heal limbs, so 3 days of game-time might not have passed for Mr. House's robots to forgive you.

Just a thought.

Can't you just kill them and be done with it? If you have the Paladin Toaster it is even easier.

I already tried that. It doesn't work. You can tell you are in for trouble before even stepping into the casino because Victor is lying dead on the steps. That is an indication that there's a problem. You do not even get the House Always Wins Quest when you enter the Strip.
