FNNCQ2 for New Vegas (official title is David) will include this feature. But it is a quest oriented slavery mod. Not a "Friend..." mod. WIP thread is coming soon.

Yeah, I'm kind of surprised nobody has made a version of the Sharing and Caring Companions mod like what they had in Fallout 3. It wasn't exactly the MOST sophisticated system on the face of the planet, but it let you recruit absolutely anyone you felt like bringing along with you for the ride.

Couple that in with 'Allspeak', another sadly absent mod, and you had a completely unique wasteland experience every time.

There's http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=37572 which lets you add any NPC set as player teammate (just use the console on the NPC first to "SetPlayerTeammate 1", and offers options to help with a lot of companion issues people are having, like warping lost companions to the player, applying stims, and antivenom to companions without the risk of death which has come up after a recent patch, complete editing of companion stats, and a lot of other features found only in this mod.

Just a FYI that TheTalkieToaster is working on a mod like this. No ETA, I just know he is working on it.

Oh yeah! TheTalkieToaster did do that one!

I couldn't remember who authored it off the top of my head... gah... can't believe I forgot that. Anyways, if TheTalkieToaster is still on the job, then you can pretty much rest assured that it's going to be good. I haven't actually seen or heard anything about it being worked on until now, though... I'm glad to hear someone else has.

Not to be nitpicky but SCC wasn't by Toaster, well, it was originally in Oblivion (Companion Share & Recruit) but 'ported over without permission (initially) by someone else. Later on Toaster made a more sophisticated version, along the same lines as his Oblivion one. To me that other one was just a quick copy over by a fan who couldn't wait for Toaster to make it for Fallout 3. It's just a pity the new Nexus rules on 'porting stuff that isn't yours didn't come into effect until now.

But, while we're waiting for Toaster to make his masterpiece again I also recommend Remote Control Companions Plus :goodjob:

Agh... too much trouble trying to remember what came out when by who. I don't have a list! T_T

Alls I know is that TheTalkieToaster made a companion recruiting mod... which essentially did all the same things as CSS... except for I think CSR had speech challenges and the like in it, and a limit on the number of people who would follow you based on Charisma.

To be entirely fair... I probably would have used CSR more... but I wasn't really keen on the limiting the number of companions bit. I routinely create characters with low charisma, who would otherwise be able to recruit very few companions and/or thugs... despite the fact that he/she will typically use brute strength and the threat of violence to keep their minions in line.

Ah, but it doesn't really matter to me at this point... I just want to be able to drag some poor bastard along for the ride every now and then...

Yeah, details. As long as we can recruit anyone we want that's all that matters. It's still fun :)
There's a few people I'd like to be able to recruit, just based on my reputation or charisma will be fine.

As gyshall mentioned I very vaguely remember hearing (reading) about Toaster doing a CS&R for NV. Maybe it was on the FO3 forums. Not sure. But, as long as it's a possibility that's good enough for me :)

I found the http://www.newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=38194 mod, but again this is for Evil NPC's wanting to enslave people!

You scramble their head with a sortof mesmetron thingy, then you inject them with a solution to make them nice and docile... there is a diologe option to get them to give you their vallina diologe, and they do become your companion, but really its setup to favor evil npcs!

Argh I shouldn't browse the forums when I'm supposed to be taking a break from modding to revise :/.
Yeah, I've more or less finished CSR:NV, but with NVSE still in beta I'm reluctant to release, and I don't really have time ATM to do the support for it.

Yeah, CSR was a staple of my Oblivion games. Used it in FO3 too, but in FO3 Robco Certified was the star of Toaster's companion series in my opinion. I miss my robots. :sadvaultboy:

Talkie! It's confirmed!

Oh thank the merciful all-maker! Enkindler be praised! I was beginning to fear that word of your intentions to provide us with the means to make loyal followers of our neighbors were but rumors and conjecture! Now that I know it is so, my weary heart can rest a beat... and soon, yes soon, I shall bring my army of faithful refugees out into the desert to perish in the burning sands of... burning and fire... and stuff...

Yeah...

... sweet.
