Rude much?

Anyways, he's debating on making an MMM for New Vegas, and I would be too after making 2 large mods based on the same thing for 2 large games. Spending HUNDREDS of hours in front of your computer doing the same things over and over again gets rather boring and tiring. And doing that twice? With just one man at the helm?

You have a mod that does almost the same as MMM....

I had a chance to speak with Martigen yesterday in regards to IWS but it is not yet clear what he wants to do. Honestly I have to agree on the sentiment that Rahu X brings to light, I feel somewhat burned out on IWS already and I haven't even been on the project for a fraction of a the time Martigen has been on MMM. Though working on games at work then working on mods at home isn't exactly helping the situation :(

And in a small way Skyrim is kind of kicking my butt thinking about modding for that instead....

Op, give the guy a break, your tone is a tad bit caustic given the current environment.... The work that Martigen has done is priceless and we should be thankful for every little bit we get.

@Doedel
I am german speaking and know what your forum name means. It was a perfect choice because such post are horrible demotivating for a modder.

Btw. the spawn system of NV is completely different then FO3 more Oblivion like which means it is a lot of work to add additional spawns. 'TheCastle' know what I am talking about. So a port of MMM is not possible it had to be made from the ground off.

Its a lot of hard work making a mod like MMM.
Its not easy.
He done it for Oblivion and Fallout 3.
That is four years of work for those two games.
He has other work and a family that need his attention.
He maybe had enough.
He needs a break.
Its a damn good mod but I came to realise in Fallout 3 its a bit of a points waster.
All I wanted for the NPC to respawn in buildings.
There is a mod like it.
Use the mod that is provided by Ceano.
I use it. Its nothing as big MMM but it works.
If you don't like it, tough.
I have to wait for two weeks or so for a new graphics card because of the damn floods. If I wait that long, so be it.

Well if you want creature variations, try out http://newvegasnexus.com/downloads/file.php?id=39520 No new monsters, just a ton of variants...then get IWS listed above. Just be a bit patient for newly added creatures in the future, and maybe Martigen will make a new MMM, but seeing as it will have to be made from the ground up due to the different spawn system.

I don't expect him to do anything, though, he should do it because he wants to.

Only here could I come and say that I don't want to play this game without a Mart mod which IMHO should be an enormous compliment and I get a bunch of girls whining about how I should be more respectful??? Is the fact that I don't want to bother with FNV without Mart not "respectful" enough?

XFO does not do anything that MMM does/would do; ie balance/increase spawns, make new cool monsters (WANAMINGOS), better leveled lists etc etc etc. I dont even know what you're talking about or why you think the two are comparable.

I'd heard in the run-up to NV's release and the days/weeks after that he was still "thinking" about it and I was just wondering if he'd made a decision.

And Gerza wtf are you smoking man, and where can I get some?

Hey, hey, hey... look here, guys... let the dude be. In his own unique way, I'm sure that what this is is a COMPLIMENT.

For many, vulgarity and a demeaning tone are, in fact, a way of showing emotion. In this case, it is such a deep love and desire to have Mart's quality work... that without it... the game seems utterly unplayable. That he comes across as disrespectful is merely a byproduct of this misdirected emotion.

I, myself, have sadly never had the computer power to run MMM without crashing shortly after... but from what little experience I have... I can understand why it's all the rage.

No. Titling the thread "Where the [censored] is Mart's Mutant Mod" means "Why isn't this lazy [censored] doing his job?", and is one of the ways the community scares off modders.

They do mods on their own time and of their own willingness, one doesn't get to make demands of them, and that's how the OP with the title reads; as a demand.

Exactly what I was thinking.

Maybe he didn't mean it exactly like that, but with that phrasing it sure sounds like it.

Look, here's the way you have to look at it... either the guy's one of those people who phrases EVERY question like 'Where the [insert expletive] is [insert greatly desired something]... and your words are wasted on him because he'll just keep on thinking he's right and you're wrong.

Or... you're right, and he's just trolling... in which case your words are wasted on him, save for the FUELING power they five your eney over you.

I think you can see where I'm going with this, yes?

Not much but open it in GECK add them to a few LL, drop some spawn points where ever you want and walah...wanamingo's.

*edit, just wanted to add that prior to posting this I hadn't really looked at the mod, now that I have I can say it's not really well done...needs some work, but it wouldn't take much to fix it up and have big mean Wanamingo's strolling the Mojave.

Seems the author is still working on the mod.
