Just a heads up I found on another forum randomly. A guy mentioned that if you have the Asus Gamer OSD installed, it will crash fallout NV. I had been experiencing a CTD after my intro movie and was unable to start the game at all, I uninstalled the Asus Gamer OSD, and am now playing so far with no hitches. I know it's not a fix for everyone, but for those of you with this little utility installed, get it out of there.

That fixed it for me! Thank you thank you thank you!! I've never paid any attention to that OSD program before, I guess it allows you to take screen captures and movies in your game. My guess is that it's reserving memory for these screen shots that Fallout needs and causing the crash. Just a guess, I can't see why else it would cause these major problems.

Yea, that Asus Gamer OSD program is a POS. I remember having problems w/ shadows in Oblivion, it took me forever to figure out that this program was the source of all my issues.

I had a different rig back then (and for FO3), so I never knew about this issue. I'm just glad someone took the time to figure out that that was the problem and post it. I never would've imagined that a small program running in the background that I've never even used before would cause so much harm.

Any idea how to get rid of the nag message that now comes up on start up "OSD not installed. It contains items that Disk Doctor needs". Or something similar to that, I'm at work and don't remember the exact terminology. My first thought was to reinstall OSD after I'm done with FONV, but if it's causing problems in this game, how many others will it affect?
