Wait, so if we can completely change our Traits in OWB...

Does that mean that we can get both the YCS/186 and the Alien Blaster?:

From Chris Avellone's twitter:
"WW {Wild Wasteland} = It's mandatory b/c of character creation, yes, we have to include them. You can chose it in DLC3 if you didn't at 1st."

We could start the game without it, get the YCS, then go into OWB, get the trait, and return for the Blaster?

If so, then joy!

Why get both?
YCS is far better as it's ammo is not limited.
Only reason to get both is for people who want the perfect collection.
As for practicality I see no reason to be joyful for being able to beat the system and get both as YCS beats Alien Blaster to Narnia for not having limited ammo.

Ah, but I want the YCS, but also want the dialogue and easter eggs of WW. The Alien Blaster is really just a secondary prize.

That seems like it would be incredibly buggy.

A refridgerator would spawn out of nowhere, Holy Hand grenades would spawn where a mini nuke used to be, suddenly you've got Aliens and soldiers fighting in that northwest corner....

There is not one thing that isn't awesome in that scenario.

That doesn't sound like a bug, it sounds like what would happen if you took WW later than the beginning. Besides, I would guess that the alien encounter would overwrite the merc one, and the merc encounter would overwrite the alien one if you get rid of WW.

I agree. That would cause quite a few bugs.

In terms of the alien blaster vs. YCS, I don't think that would work because your savefile would have the fact you had already done that spot/killed those targets embedded in it, so to speak. They wouldn't spawn/respawn just because you changed your trait pick. At least, they shouldn't. Don't think it would be hard to keep it from happening.
