Everytime I go to 'Accept" the transaction the game crashes to desktop. Whatever town has the 2 big statues on top of the hill is where the travelling merchant is. I tried different things but nothing helps.

I dont know why this still happens. I am able to run the game for long periods of time without any major problems. Just when i press "A" to accept the transation it crashes. Ive meet plenty of other vendors and traveling merchants i diddnt have problems with.

You're not alone, my friend. I crash every time I accept a trade with multiple items with the Caravan trader at the NCR trading post.

Getting the same issue doesn't seam to matter if hes at the bottom or top of the hill with the ranger monument.

I believe there were 3 other threads for this problem. It's the Caravan cards. Are you guys buying Caravan cards from him? And do you have the same kind of card that you're accepting in your inventory? Because multiple copies of the same Caravan card crashes your game. It's not the merchant himself, it's the cards. Try buying anything other than Caravan cards and see what that does. In-fact, avoid any kind of card transaction in-game and see what happens. I crashed every single time when I traded Caravan cards, but it didn't happen when I avoided them.

Yes I am (was) heavily collecting cards from the hotels.
I don't even play Caravan! But I'm a compulsive collector.
So duplicates crash it for sure?
You know, I'm just going to sell all my cards, they kill me when I'm scrolling inventory anyway...
If this works, brother Jim, it's a lifesaver. I'll let ya know...

Oh man this was freaking me out and I so I simply stopped trading with him because the crashing was annoying me.

Glad to know that this is probably what it is. I'll try trading with him again now, without buying any cards.

Does anyone know if Obsidian will fix this one? From what I've read, it sounds like the cards are totally messed up anyway, so obviously they'll have to fix that, and hopefully fix this at the same time.

It was the cards (specifically, King of Hearts - Ultra-Luxe in my case).
Lose the cards - all of them!
Man, my inventory is a whole lot tidier now, anyway.
No more cards = no more problems for me.

So, reading the forums, am I correct that there are three separate bugs with caravan?:

- Buying duplicate cards from traders crashes your game.
- The cards you buy don't automaticly find their way into your deck, (unless you do some sort of inventory shuffling)
- For some people, the opponents never bet any money.

Am I glad I haven't played any caravan yet! I keep postponing it, because reading / learning those convoluted rules is a chore.
