Veronica stopped following me in Freeside. I told her to wait and then follow. That did not help. So I parted ways and told her to go to lucky 38. I immediately stopped her and had her join me again, no good. So I parted ways again and let her get all the way to the penthouse. Then I got Boone, went to lucky 38, fired him and then got veronica again. She still won't follow. After the initial conversation with her to hire her again I get a second dialogue initiation immediately after saying good buy the first time. However, this second dialogue does not offer any alternate dialogue paths. So now I am stuck without Veronica whom I really like.

Any idea how to get her to follow me again? I can't go back to a saved game as I overwrote it.

I found this else where but have not had a chance to try it out yet:

"For another workaround after she has frozen, go to Gibson's Shack. Veronica will instantly appear when you enter. Use the computer and download the notes again. Walk outside and talk to her in normal dialog, tell her again what tech you will go for, and end the conversation. This seems to reset her and she will start to follow you as normal. "

I can confirm that this works as I had the same issue and found the same solution on these forums.
