Corrupt Autosave

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 9:48 am

I encountered the black screen which results in a corrupt autosave last night. I was able to load my last manual save but would like to know if there is additional steps needed to prevent this from happening again. I deleted the system cache through the xbox system menu but I recall Oblivion had a way to force the game cache to rebuild by holding the A button down when starting the game. I tried this and it does not seem to do anything. I saw a post about holding LB+RB+X but nothing happens when I try this either.

Moderator,
If LB+RB+X is the correct command can you provide detailed instructions on how to use it and update the 'Please read before posting' topic in this forum? Do I need to hold these buttons until I get to the game main menus? Thanks.

Somewhere within the system tab, under memory I believe there is an option to clear cache. Incidentally, I don't think this is going to fix your issue. Didn't work for me, sorry to be the bearer of bad news.

I am wondering if I should copy the last good save to USB and wipe all the FNV game files off the 360 hd then reinstall it as a precaution. It svcks not knowing if you proceed that I may encounter this again.

There's a difference between having your saves corrupted with the DLC issue and simply having your autosave become corrupted (It lists the name of the autosave as corrupted), I believe.

If it's the latter, simply reload a manual save, wait (to force an autosave) and the game will prompt you to save over the corrupted one.

Happened to me this evening, saved over it and no issues since.
