***If you have not been sent to Vault 3 yet, there are some spoilers here so please be warned.***




I've run into a bug with Vault 3 that all my game saves were corrupt after a certain point. I was sent there by Col. Hsu to rescue a ranger and some civilians. I completed all the quests there and continued playing, making saves regularly, but not having to reload for about an hour after I completed it. I then found that any saves I tried to load after killing Motor-Runner were causing the client to crash.

I'm not sure if this is affecting everyone but thought I'd post it here in case others start having corrupt save issues around the same point in the game. I did a search in the PC support forum and didn't see any other threads on it.

For now, I've skipped killing Motor-Runner and gone on to other quests I had. Fortunately, it's no a part of the main quest line (that I know of) but it does block a few NCR quests from what I can see.

I had the same issue with Vault 3. I didn't have the quest for the ranger, went there for other reasons. I worked it down to spending a certain amount of time in the vault (save and reload, rinse, repeat until failure) May be an issue with the game setting certain flags for entering the first area in the vault from any other area, including different vault levels. The bad part is, there appears to be similar issues in other parts of the game, pointing to a systemic issue of some sort. This probably means a long time (diagnose, evaluate repair, test) for such a big fix. I am now hard saving every 30-45 mins and reloading to check areas. One thing that might actually help is to report (grief?) all instances of this occurring on the forums and to tech support. This is a huge, complex game; as with any complex system, things are so interdependent that they will take a long time to parse out the bugs. FO3 is now a stable platform after how many years?

I also had the same issue. Once I had save games in Vault 3, I couldn't use any saves after. It didn't show up immediately, but waiting until I had shut down the game for a bit. Then, when I attempted to go back into my saves, it started crashing the client.
