Because Treyarch/Infinity Ward actually need to update the games because they have a bigger fan base than Bethesda. :)

Also consider that this is a Open world game and Call of duty is a Shooter with closed levels. in a Open world game you got to be more careful of what you do. a patch can do more harm then good if it is rushed in a Open world game.

Understandable open vs closed world games. Regardless, if they fixed the game save bug, roll that out IMMEDIATELY !! Then bring another patch when you have the other major bugs fixed. They have posted on the 5th of November - tomorrow will be 2 weeks. They will use the "verification process" as an excuse. Explain to me how something was fixed 2 weeks ago and is not out, when Black Ops has had 2 updates in less then 10 days. It just makes them look bad.

So if you knew everything there was to know already, why are you upset about it?

After 2 weeks of radio silence the latest news released is essentially the same thing they already stated. " We are working on it " . " We will let you know when its done ". I think the majority of posters on this forum ( myself included) would like to know what issues are being addressed and some time frame it will be released. That's not asking too much.

So if they give a time frame for release, then find out that something isn't completely fixed and it will take longer than they announced it would, you wouldn't be upset at all?

Vague time frames are in everyone's best interest, even if they are annoying.

It takes time to fix problems, If they rush and it makes things worse people would really freek.
Yeah a bit miffed at the problems encountered with freeze ups and save corruptions. Cant do much about it but grump.
They are working on a good reliable fix to solve this problem makes waiting even harder.
Whatever caused this to happen isnt any instant fix by the looks of it so my anger is pointless.

Blackops is a good game worthy of playing campian and the online is fantastic. The zombie levels are a hoot.
Lot of good playing when one learns the ropes. The UPDATES so easly said to be wonderful for custemor base are in responce to cheaters using mods and booster programs to up stats and the wonderful glitchers that get off maps ect.

THE FALLOUTS ARE HOURS AND HOURS of game play that isnt the same thing twice. We are talking weeks for game experiance to complete. Then we have evil or faction choices to make the story change with our game play.

The main story line is secondiary in a game like this...with what seems to be a hundered short side quests in the middle I would not expect a quick update to a bug that seems to travel around the game at random points. They are finding a fix so waiting is neccarry yet uncomfortable, by the looks of it a real fix not a patch that just masks the problem is in the works. I hope it's worth every moment of wait time.

I just find it hard to believe the whole "2-weeks verification" thing. If COD:BO can get a patch sent out in less than 2 weeks, how is this not out already? I've already stopped playing NV and hopped over to COD. And they actually had TWO updates already. Kind of sad.

This is because Treyarch do not require a certification process, I read somewhere they can just create and patch the game when they please. If I could find a link, I'd happily provide it.

Treyarch may be doing something similiar to what Uber did for Monday Night Combat.

Using the Title Managed Storage. Though it would really come down to what they actually updated/patched in the game.

The COD BO update does not need certifying, it is simply a playlist change like what is done for XP weekends, the update stops a map from being voted more than twice in a row due to boosting in nuke town.

I'm thinking that maybe they had already started building the DLC content before game release and before they sent the game off to be mass produced they removed that content... perhaps causing many of the bugs that people have been experiencing. I bet the 'replacing' of said content will fix a lot of the major bugs.. and why they aren't necessarily rushing to get a patch out. It would at least explain the "missing DLC content" error that so many have experienced and maybe wrongly attributed to the bonus store content.

They don't need any help looking bad, I've already got zero respect for Obsidian for the debacle that is the game they released. It was NOT ready for public consumption, more like beta testing.

However it is ready to be used as a frisbee. Maybe that is what they expected us to use the game for? Or to scratch off white heads from my butt?????

My only complaint about the patch is developers claiming that they cannot release a fix list because it would "be a novel"... Yet they won't fix everything (assuredly) and we users will have no opportunity to point out bugs they aren't fixing that we want fixed, or that they are fixing bugs we don't care about.

1st of all the dlc has been in the works since before the games release and a new dlc usually mean a patch to go with it plus its easy to add stuff to patch over things in BLACK OPS unlike this where thing must be changed not just coverd with new changes so chill the [random curse] out

I have to say i am feeling a little lucky right now. Originally i was going to buy the game the day it was released and the only reason i didnt was because a change of jobs and more importtant things to spend money on at the time. I was thinkin about going out the buy the game today but after readin these reviews i am very skeptical. I honestly never had a problem with Fallout 3, i had never heard about its glitches until reading reviews on New vegas this mourning.I belive they will get they patches out for the 360 soon but that wont help me. I have no internet to my 360 which means i need either a CD sent to me with these updates or a copy of the game made after these problems are fixed. So far i have not seen and answer from bethesda about they will send these updates out via that route or not. I have to agree it shouldn't be taking so long for these fixes. Thats not to mention the game shouldn't have been released with all these problems in the first place. There is a very surefire solution that no one in any of these forums has mentioned specifically. I heard some people comparing it to buyin a new car and it getting recalled. Same thing is what sould be going on here. A little organization called the Better Business Bureau. If they get enough hits from unsatisfied consumers Bethesda will get off their butt and do something. You can look them up on the interenet and file a complaint directly via email or letter. I have done it once before with a lemon of a product i bought years ago and once the BBB was on it the stonewalling i had been from the compnay i bought the product from stopped and i was given a full refund. If enough people stop writing basically useless statements on a forum that bethesda doesn't even answer and start writing to this organization something will be done. Because this is a junk product and bethesda wanted to make a quick buck. write the BBB and something will be done about it.
