Why does Jane, the lucky 38 securitron, despawn after mr.house is removed, am i suppose to run around with 8 pounds of snow globes which i can't put on display and i can't get rid of because it says "quest item"?

Why is cooking food so weak comparing to raw meat? Make raw meat and other consumables give you 95% less food for starvation hardcoe mode, maybe then i'd bother using campfires to craft consumables instead of killing a pack of bullhorns for their raw meat that will last for weeks or months.

Why is ammo is so... not very scarce? In fallout 3 I've gotten scoundrel perk to find rare ammo. What is rare ammo in this game you may ask? Well its as rare as one trip to Gun Runners to get all your ammo needs for as cheap as 1 bottle cap per bullet or shell from Vendortron.

Why is the map Fallout New Vegas map so false advertising to make the world appear bigger than it is, about 50% of it as UNACCESSIBLE want proof? Open your map.. and look on the west & east side of it. Its there, but unless it has a swiggly line (a road) going to that area you can't reach it. Fallout 3's world map was much bigger and it didn't have to hide by making unaccessible areas just cover half the map to make the world bigger, because in Fallout 3 the world was already big. Not to mention the vast sewer systems in fallout 3 which added to the already immense size of the world up top.

The perk Jury Rigging needs to be reworked because repairing a 12.7mm with a 9mm may be fun, it completely breaks the game as one gun sells for 4,000 caps while the other one sells for 75 caps and thats just one example, i'll leave it up to your imagination how much this can break the in-game economy.

Why does Tennpenny's tower suite and megaton house just feels better and gives you much more satisfaction then the penthous New Vegas has to offer, it seems like Vegas's cribs took a step backwards from the preprocessing game.

Why are there only 8 7 possible hotkeys to keybind your equipment this isn't 2006 Oblivion, I believe this is 2010 Fallout New Vegas. And if you will add more hotkeys in the future, walking into casinos as they take your weapons should not unbind them, ever. Do you have any idea how annoying that is? and isn't this the name of this game? Vegas aka casinos. Has it not crossed any developer's mind that walking into it / out & having all your equipment unbound every time may be extremely aggravating.

There NEEDS to be a subcategory for your inventory & crate stashes that further itemizes items by category. Example if you select crafting, i want to see duct tape, wonder glue, & etc. Bullet crafting components can use a sub-category as well. And how about trying to make crafting actually functional. I think i took apart my 20ga shells and made them into 20ga magnum shells ONCE, then i said this is too much unncessary work when Gun Point vendor just sells you the already finished product for next to nothing.

I have many more questions and statements about this game but i think these are the few that have been bugging me the most, I'm playing on my second run through, but this time im not going to finish the game for obvious reasons as it will just simply end.

Won't even gonna get into detail how there is no continue play after the game ends, keep milking the cow i suppose with future DLCs.

My biggest gripe? Besides all that you listed? Every 10 seconds I turn around and check to see if my companion is still there.

I lost dog because I told him to meet me at the 38; by the time I went to check on him I had already spent 8 hours doing quests and couldn't bring myself to load. I lost Arcade 5 minutes after I got him. Hes not at the fort, not at the lucky 38, not anywhere. I got into a fight a few minutes after leaving the fort with him and that was the last that I saw him. Maybe he saw an attractive male near the kings school of impersonation, I don't know.

I'm constantly checking to see if Raul is still behind me. Nevermind the fact that they refuse to jump over a ledge that is 4 inches tall, I don't go over ledges anymore. I just run all the way around. I'm talking about the fact that the game removes the companions all together. I literally check constantly to see if Raul is still there.

You can always use a console command to bring them back. But yeah that is pretty bad of an issue.

As for the OP:

Jane - Agreed. The quest item stuff is a pretty glaring issue. Console commands and mods would serve as an easy fix, though.

Cooking - Raw meat reduces stats and are less efficient than cooked stuff. You're also missing things like Caravan Lunch, Wasteland Omelet (the normal variant gives -300 FOD and 400+ HP over 1 min, the cooked version is even better) and so on.

Ammo - Play with EWeapons and you'll stop right there. Between merchants and the reloading bench mechanic, Guns have a major surplus of ammo, yes, but you can simply avoid buying them or even better, create or find a mod that balances this out for you.

Map - There's plenty of accessible areas outside of the roads, and some reach the very end of the map. You haven't explored much if you don't believe me. Regardless, even if the map is smaller than Fo3's, there's much more content through side quests, encounters and such.

Jury Rigging - Just don't take the [censored] perk. It doesn't even matter once you get some levels as the stuff you need to use to repair your weapons are literally everywhere, and money becomes a non-issue.

Suite - Agreed, somewhat. They're a little uninspired, but so far I've counted 7 "suites" that are officially given to you. There's probably one or two more I haven't found. They all have their themes, and I enjoy some far more than I enjoyed Tenpenny.

Hotkeys - Agreed. The numerous unmapable commands are just as bad.

Inventory & Crafting - I agree about the sorting part, but they're limited by the Gamebryo engine. Until they drop it for something decent, this will be an issue. Mods help quite a bit in this regard, though. Crafting - you can't be serious. Quite a bit of the best ammo in the game is only crafted, not sold. Not to mention that dismantling your ammo removes their weight and makes it very easy to sort them out and carry them. This augments the issue of too much ammo (my Guns character has enough to make well over ten thousand bullets), but I don't ever bother buying ammo unless it's for a weapon I can't craft certain types for.

Disassembling your ammo doesn't give you the full materials for it, which shouldn't be a issue considering how cheap and how plentiful ammo is in this game, but lead takes up weight, you can't be carrying too much of it as 14,000 lead is 10 pounds and thats with the perk pack rat otherwise make that 20 pounds. And can you name one ammo that is only accessible through crafting and not sold in by vendor in large quantities as far as i know all the ammo thats listed is all the ammo you can craft there are no schematics. Hell theres only 6 schematics in this game total as far as i know from fallout wiki.

The gun runners is the only legitimate merchent I found. He regularly restocks for 8k caps + tons of weapons. Their is another one deep within mccaran airport but it takes a considerable amount of time to get to him every time. Those two are the only ones that I found so their might be others out there.

As far as a hideout goes, I despised the lucky 38 suites. Way too big, keeping track of whats where was so much of a pain I dropped before I got settled in. Fallout 1, 2, 3, and now this is just one, large, exercise in futility. You spend a considerable amount of your play time just sorting and organizing loot. Might as well have the lockboxes somewhat nearby one another. I used the motel room at Novac because it provided me with a suitecase, drawer, safe, cabinet, fridge, and desk; basically stuck next to each other. And a bathroom to dump guns on the floor with a first aid box to boot.

I used that until I finished the BOS questline which gave me access to the BOS safehouse. The BOS safehouse is a godsend because it has a reloader bench + workbench in it and the layout of the location is perfect. I have found a followers of the apocalypse safehouse, a NCR safehouse, and a legion safehouse so far. I'm assuing all others offer the same thing, but have yet to confirm. I'm 50+ hours into the game and I just completed it. I'm starting my second crack at it tomorrow after work.

I'll check this thread then. If you guys know any other merchants than the ones I listed, or other neat places to hide your loot... Please feel free to post. Other then that, I doubt they will fix all the issues I'm having with the companions. Such a shame too, the companion wheel really takes the engine to the next level. But what good is it when the companions themselves require a massive amount of maintenance.
