Oh yea, if you go melee and get a good weapon (bumper sword, super sledgehammer etc...) they start going down easy.

I had Ed-E and Boone with me, but did not see much fighting in the basemant.
Ran into a visible NightKin who took his orders from a Brahmin Skull, Talked with him,moved on and spoke with the ghoul sniper who legged it once we got done talking, found a not on a comp saying the stealth boys had been sent back, which the Nightkin boss believed.
Then I moved on.

Was wierd, but kewl, following invisible Super Mutants to the Upper Floor.

i use a very expensive .50 with incendiary rounds lol but all you need is a companion

lvl 8, Cowboy Repeater, Ed-E as companion.

On very hard + hardcoe they seemed rather easy. That shimmer they give of is too obvious to me, so a sneak critt to their legs + continued shots there and they're easy.

Just cripple their legs, then you can run around them pulling faces and they can't do anything about it. I killed them using guns that way.
My workmate used stealthboys and their own Rebars on them and that worked fine too.

Leg crippling works on all the badass creatures in the game, you can play with your victims once you have incapacitated their means of getting around.

When I tackled the whole situation, I was all by myself with a Varmint Rifle.
Thinking a bit about it, I used the inventive solution: listening to their steps carefully, Stealth Boys, and dynamite sticks.
By moving carefully, I went Predator on their sorry backsides. One stick, one kill :disguise:
