Speech problem + lock up

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 6:34 am

I just installed and started NV. When the doctor wakes me up and is talking to me his speech was delayed by about 20 seconds, then after that when I went outside and talked to that robot he produced no audible speech at all, then I talked to the npc sitting outside the store/bar the same problem occurred. then when I went to sit next to him my game froze and I had to load a save game. Please help. What is the Phone number/e-mail for tech support?

Lots of ppl have this problem. It svcks. You have to alt tab out of the game and press cntrl alt del and set priority for new vegas to high. That should help.

OK I tried that, but now I have a new problem. every 2 or 3 minutes the game just freezes for about 45 seconds. I hear the background noise and stuff, but can't move or anything.

I have the same problem. It isn't a perfect fix for most people.

Sounds like a codec issue to me. Do you nave any codecs packs or FFDshow installed?

If so, try uninstalling them and make WMP the default file player and see how it goes.

OK OK! It turns out I did have them installed and I uninstalled them, and set WMPlayer to be my default, but it didn't help
