Pretty funny article about unarmed combat @ TGS. I am a little concerned that unarmed may be overpowered though.

Thanks for the good read
The unarmed doesn't really seem overpowered,
I think that because from the way he described, it sounded like the bladed gauntlet
which is supposed to be a good unarmed class weapon

The one thing that kept popping into my mind was, "forget bringing a knife to a gun fight, just bring a heavy fist and a spiked glove". LOL. I wonder if paralyzing palm will be back.

I wanted either one of these to be in the game .-.

Am I the only one who was pretty unimpressed by a guy writing an article that essentially said 'Yo! I'm punching people and then getting killed! Cool! Also, New Vegas won't sell in Japan! Cool!' ?

I just like katars (or punch daggers for people who've played PST) because they're fairly simple weapons that are quite effective as well. It seems like making your fist pointy would be an obvious idea to make it more effective in a setting like Fallout.

I don't dislike the bladed gauntlet, it just seems inefficient (and looks UGLY).

well, I wouldn't call it the greatest preview I've ever read

As dumb as that article is, it's like watching those videos of people walking around punching people and seeing them get pissed, it's juvenile to be sure, but something about it is just so childish you HAVE to giggle at it.

I thought it was a hilarious article. It's not like any of the previews can tell us something we don't know at this point. This guy used the opportunity to tell us about the New Vegas marketing and push in Japan, and described a fun little game play experience he had with a version of the game in a different language. I don't think the intention was to impress anyone. Would you rather have heard the same questions, answers, and reveals as every other previewer article instead? Thanks to fans at PAX, all the gameplay videos, all the professional previewers, and all the reveals and clarifications from the developers on these forums, we know everything short of getting a picture of a map with all locations revealed and a plot outline.

I wish more previewers would do "punchy" articles instead of trying to act like their readers have never heard of New Vegas yet and never read another preview article about it.

I LOL'd reading the article.

When language fails, pummel everything with a spiked gauntlet.

I would love to see the a translation of the FONV ads poking fun @ the stereotypical japanese RPGs... =p

I want to see that bladed gauntlet in action. Might be worthwhile going unarmed sometime.

Those Pre-Build Characters are over-powered so the reviewers don't die. People tend to give bad reviews when their characters die.

Also, Melee is very tough in the beginning but very effect at higher levels.

That may not be the best or most informative article, but it surely was the funniest. This is Cracked.com level of quality. This guy should review every game that comes out in foreign lands, like this.

Edit: Grammar
