My thoughts about NY bugs

Okay, I, like several others here on the board cannot play FO:NV due to the DLC glitch.

To be honest, if I have to start over, I don’t care, I’m only 6 hours into the game itself, so its really not a big deal.

The issue that I have with people telling me to start over, is that I don't want to have to keep doing the same quests over and over again. I don’t do the whole exploring thing, I quest. That’s the point of the FO games to me, questing. I quest and quest and quest and quest and quest some more, and if I cannot do that, then what is the point of starting over.

Let also voice yet another opinion, I really don't feel bad for anyone who has played 30-60 hours on this game for one file. “Why?” you may ask, because you have actually experienced the game, you know what is going on, how everything progresses, the cooler weapons and characters, all of that; me? I don’t know anything beyond “Come Fly With Me” and “One for My Baby.”

I’ve tried every suggestion that was possible, I deleted the whole game from my system, got rid of the DLC and cleared the cache, nothing stops a game-killing bug or glitch from getting to one of my saves.

To be honest, I will probably buy another Besthesda game, I do enjoy them, but I’m going to do what I did with FO3, wait 6-months to buy it used, by then most of the game killers will be gone. I also will probably get the DLC for FO:NV, once I can actually play the game and have been assured that it won’t ruin my saves.

I’ve said my piece, and will now retreat back into anonymity.

I'm 50 hours in, haven't progressed the main story, and cannot play FO:NV due to the DLC glitch. I'm an explorer by nature, but I've certainly completed a lot of side quests. Many of those came to a premature end because I can't enter Nipton without crashing, so I couldn't finish several interrelated objectives anyway before it ate my saves. Repeating those lost 50 hours is not something I'm looking forward to; that's a big deal for me just in the time commitment. And none of it will be "new."

There's no way I'm buying another Besthesda game new (and previously I purchased limited/collectors editions); I'm with you: buy used or rent 6 months after release *if* they managed to patch the game-breaking bugs it will inevitably ship with. I won't be buying any DLC for New Vegas either; I can't justify spending any more money on such a broken product.
