with golf clubs, we can now properly play golf
1) shoot off someones head
2) take golf club from inventory
3) swing at head
5) find head
6) have fun and repeat

Would be fun outside of combat you could use the golf clubs "Fore" to hit things like heads, golf balls, base balls, and stuff around P=
a golfing minigame would be nice too...

It would be really sweet if you could hit something with a golf club, and if by some chance it hit an enemy/NPC, they'd take a bit of damage and maybe turn hostile.

I am just hoping for golf balls. Even if they are just junk items. Still would be awesome to be able to hit them with the club. Using the club to hit any object on the ground would be great.

i get the feeling the club will be using the same animation like for the baseball bat, except when 'Fore!' is activated in VATS. but if not, a mod could be made

I bet you could cause damage with a golf ball or even a head. In FO3 the pitching machines shot baseballs on traps and beams and stuff would fall and cause damage so golf balls and heads should too.

20 bucks says someone mods a golf course into the game.

I can't remember the exact syntax off the top of my head, but something like golfball.ref getdistance <= 0 holeNumberX.ref to determine if you got the ball in the hole, and then some way of counting how many hits it takes compared to the hole's par, and there you have it. Golf. :D

What, knocking around a severed head?

That's not what this website claims:

The origin of golf is unclear and open to debate. Some historians trace the sport back to the Roman game of paganica, in which participants used a bent stick to hit a stuffed leather ball. One theory asserts that paganica spread throughout Europe as the Romans conquered most of the continent, during the first century B.C., and eventually evolved into the modern game. Others cite chuiwan ("chui" means striking and "wan" means small ball) as the progenitor, a Chinese game played between the eighth and 14th centuries. A Ming Dynasty scroll dating back to 1368 entitled "The Autumn Banquet", shows a member of the Chinese Imperial court swinging what appears to be a golf club at a small ball with the aim of sinking it into a hole. The game is thought to have been introduced into Europe during the Middle Ages. Another early game that resembled modern golf was known as cambuca in England and chambot in France. This game was, in turn, exported to the Low Countries, Germany, and England (where it was called pall-mall, pronounced “pell mell”). Some observers, however, believe that golf descended from the Persian game, chaugán. In addition, kolven (a game involving a ball and curved bats) was played annually in Loenen, Netherlands, beginning in 1297, to commemorate the capture of the assassin of Floris V, a year earlier.
According to the most widely accepted account, however, the modern game originated in Scotland around the 12th century, with shepherds knocking stones into rabbit holes on the current site of the Old Course at St Andrews.

I might be missing your point, but I don't see anything about human craniums in there.

thats actualy the PG version.

paganica seems to have evolved from a game played by skinning a bird with its feathers on, inverting the hide and basicaly rolling it into a ball

however theres several jokes in scotland that imply that Golf was originaly created by the younger children knocking a body part, the exact one depends on the current company of a member of a group whos composition depends on the nationality of the current company being told the joke. (which when I think about it, its the same joke. . . just depends on the audience listening as to the background and body part)

however the order of prefered "nationality" seems to be English Viking Irish some other Scottish clan,Murderers Outlaws and Hoodlums who were drawn and Quartered, Papists, Tax collectors, and Lawyers.

Oddly enough when its a group of Lawyers, its always the (ahem) of a Lawyer. . .

however theres several jokes in scotland..../snip

I cannot find anything that would indicate those are any more than jokes. The most recent historical evidence would take the origins of golf out of Europe, in fact, and put them 500 years earlier in China.
