GTX 275 sli crash

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 12:17 pm

Hi everyone. I'm having problems with sli enabled. Without sli activated, the game runs fine (with a framerate hit). With it on, I ctd within about 15 minutes or so. I tried enabling "sli mode" in the preferences file to no avail. Any advice would be appreciated.

Windows 7 64 bit home
Intel i7 920
Gtx 275 sli x2
6 gig ram

Thanks!

I'm using 2 - 260's in SLI and no crashes. Are you overclocked? Got the latest drivers for your Mobo and vid cards?

No overclocking. vid card drivers are up to date. Haven't checked mobo, I'll look into that.

Yes definitely try new mono drivers. Mine were 2+ years old! Updated and ALL games run better.

I finally found the updates for my windows 7 that didn't show before, one specefic is codec updates that I hope will help with my constant crashes. My game started crashing after the second game patch and that is why I think it might be a codec issue.

Oh btw this person might give you odd ideas for what could fix your game, who knows. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GTzzX31y9Vw

I found that the new nvidia update that came out enables sli, now the game sees all gpus. The game just doesn't put much of a load on the gpu. Each card shows 14% +/-, even when I disable 1 or 2 cards the gpu load doesn't go up. I would have thought when I took a card or two out, it would bring the load up over 14%, but it just stays there. Put all cards back in sli and still had 14% on all cards.

The game runs much better with 2 cards, I dedicated the 3rd for physix even though the game doesn't use it. Try messing with the control panel, it diddnt help me but it might help you. I tried to use multi gpu alternate frame rendering but it diddnt help me. Still hope they release a patch soon.
