Will PS3 have quicksave in FONV?

Post » Sat Feb 19, 2011 10:05 am

I have noticed that in some FO3 videos that people can save quickly...(Quicksave) and no i am not talking about "Autosave". I've seen it on the PC and 360 but when you are saving on the PS3 you have to choose a file and takes maybe 5 or 10 seconds but then it will not take you back to the gameplay and instead you have to close out of the "Save Completed" Menu then exit out of the Main Menu. It started getting on my nerves when i had to save often, when i was done with a brawl or something. Does anyone know if this will be available to the PS3 with FONV?

EDIT: Xbox 360 does NOT have Quicksave. My Bad

Quicksave is only for the PC, and was not in either console version of Fallout 3.

This is true. The only type of saving that the PS3 and 360 versions will have is manual save and autosave (if you fast travel, wait or say enter a new room). Only the PC has the extra function of quicksaves, this was the case with Fallout 3 and will be the same for Fallout: New Vegas I imagine.

I thought that if one connects a USB keyboard to a console with free saving then you can quicksave.
At least I could at one game. (Can't remember which one though)

But why? Is it that difficult to include in the console versions? I don't think so...

FAKE!!! IF U DID USE A PS3 YOU'LL KNOW AFTER A WHILE IF U USE AUTO-SAVE IT'LL [censored] UP MAN SERIOUSLY IT DOES

AUTO-SAVE BAD FOR PS3

TURN IT OFFF

I DONT BELIEVE U BTW BECAUSE IT'S TRUE IF U LEAVE AUTO-SAVE IT [censored]S UP AFTER A WHILE

STOP LYING

Quite frankly, if you've been around here alot, you'd know I try to post accurate information, your posting in all caps leads me to believe you are a troll.

Secondly, it may be your particular PS3, mine has never had that issue, but I only use one save and one autosave. I've had Autosave turned off lately so I can have room for New Vegas data. So I'd appreciate it if you be more respectable, as I find you being exceedingly rude :/

What button would they map it to, exactly?

IIRC every single button had a use on the console versions.

As much as I would like this feature I'm not going to miss it when it's not there.

Autosaves can get corrupted over time as they are overwritten so many times. Also, cells are rendering when most autosaves are created and this can cause issues with the saves. Not all people have this problem, however it is common enough on all platforms that we do not reccomend anyone rely on Autosaves and instead use a series of manual save slots. You can cycle through them, but just don't keep using the same one over and over. In fact, it may be best to turn the feature off so you don't get in the habit of relying on them.

Quicksaves, as on the PC, are not complete saves and can cause issues with mods. This usually results when changing mods more so than just using them. However, some mod based scripts are not happy with Quicksaves. While it is nice to use Quicksave, do not rely on them either. Use Quicksave along with Manual Saves and always make a manual save before you leave the game.

Does it really matter? it's safer and more reliable to manual save and it doesnt take much time at all! :hubbahubba:

I can't think of a single console game that's ever had a quicksave button. It shouldn't be that hard to implement into a console game. You just have to make it something like hold down the A button and press the Select button.

Consoles never have quicksave. There's not enough buttons to go around. PC has plenty.
