Pixelated night sky

Every "night" the sky gets a rainbow-ish pixelated pattern of bands instead of regular sky, clouds, and moon. (See image below.) Was using Nevada Skies mod, so figured that might be causing the issue, but even disabled the night sky is messed up. I'm on Steam, so should have the latest patch auto-installed. Win 7 64, settings at Ultra. (See DXDIAG for hardware.)

Should also point out that I did not have this problem before mods, but don't understand why when they are disabled it still exists.

Any ideas what might be causing this? It's really frustrating, as I love roaming around at night sniping, and can't enjoy the wonderful animation/artwork put into the game now.

Every "night" the sky gets a rainbow-ish pixelated pattern of bands instead of regular sky, clouds, and moon. (See image below.) Was using Nevada Skies mod, so figured that might be causing the issue, but even disabled the night sky is messed up. I'm on Steam, so should have the latest patch auto-installed. Win 7 64, settings at Ultra. (See DXDIAG for hardware.)

Should also point out that I did not have this problem before mods, but don't understand why when they are disabled it still exists.

Any ideas what might be causing this? It's really frustrating, as I love roaming around at night sniping, and can't enjoy the wonderful animation/artwork put into the game now.

If the sky looks normal before mods then the issue is probably a mod. If a mod replaced the sky textures then disabling it wont matter.
Try doing some research into the mods your using to see if this is a common issue. Make sure you installed the mod correctly.
You might try reinstalling the game (delete the mod directory as well) and see if the issue goes away.

It looks to me like a corrupted night sky texture. Go to 'Data/Textures/Sky/' and delete 'Skystars.dds'. That should return you to the vanilla sky texture from the BSA.

That seemed to do the trick, even with Nevada Skies enabled again. Thanks for the suggestion. I'll monitor it and see if anything changes.
