IMMA SOLDIER!1

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 12:51 pm

I don't know if it is just me however I think to many people play the role soldier and think they are purely a damage output class. Feels like EVERY game I'm in i lack ammo (yes i do look to see we have soldiers on team) however I get a DMG buff when i can (Eng) and If i die or low on HP i get health (medic)

Anyone else having this issue?

edit! poll, why not.

I have more of a problem with Operatives tbh. On the last Hack Objective on Shipyard my team had 3 operatives...none of them even touched the objective. At least 2 of them were light operatives with light rifles :brokencomputer:

My main character is a soldier and I'm not going to lie I love mowing down enemies with a minigun, but I always make sure that my allies have ammo as well between having scavenger and the extra supply pip I can't see why any soldier could just ignore their allies, but I do agree when I play on my engy I find an upsetting amount of soldiers just hoard there supply and don't offer it up. Play with me sometime I'll make sure your ammo never runs out. :P

I'm a Soldier, and I try to supply my allies as much as possible and as quickly as possible.
Also, you got to keep in mind that the supply pips run out quickly, and doesn't reload fast enough in the heat of battle.

Earlier today I was out of ammo for the last part of a game and a Soldier wouldn't give me any even though I was giving him buffs and standing in front of him constantly to let him see that I had an empty ammo supply. Got quite a few slide knockdowns that round.

That's one of the problems with this game, forcing team work down people's throats doesn't usually work in pubs. I mostly play Medic because he's the most self sufficient while at the same time being essential to every map at all times. Thank god Supply Command Posts (not sure about health ones) give you ammo.

I'm a SOLDAT! - wolfenstein ET anyone? I find soldiers have been playing pretty good support in the games I've been in, I have to wait a bit but they come eventually before my secondary runs out. but I also find that not many people play soldier.

Anyone else think the soldier class is at a disadvantage in getting points? Yes, the ammo buff can give more than 75 points to people really low on ammo, but in my experience, teammates don't often times survive long enough.

I got half a dozen kills earlier today with zero ammunition, lol... went for like 5 minutes without ammo trying to hold a point because we only had one soldier and he wasnt doing his job. Between melee, my turret, and my mines, I was able to keep the enemy from getting through, though.

i think Medic is more of a solo wolf class, they can heal themselves and if they're high enough rank, they can bring themselves back to life.

I'm a medic but i'm the kind of medic that heals the team and revives them to get points, rather than getting kills.

i cant remember how many bars of energy i have but i have around 7.

I thought that the soldier was a Run & Gun class at first, but then I started to actually pay attention to the ammo counters above everyone's head... they must be there for SOME reason...

Soldier's my favorite class to play as, and I actually enjoy tossing ammo around, it makes me feel important, but I usually only run Soldier when there's 2 or less of them on our team. All the classes in this game are, in one way or another, support classes, and we need to get these Run & Gunners to realize that.

I play as a solider and I won't get out of ammo, of course. But I often get really low on ammo even though I have the perk which increases my amout of ammo, and as a soldier, the amount of ammo should be increased imo.

Which is kind of why I wish your team could see how many pips you have left. I actually got a message from someone raging at me for not reviving him, and just standing there looking at him. -.-' I'm not Jesus, I can only revive as many people as fast as the game lets me.

As a soldier I give out ammo whenever I can but since I play light I'm usually flanking and playing behind enemy lines so I'm usually not around to hand out ammo but I do whenever I can. Classes that don't go for their objective is the biggest problem right now. At least in PC you can chat so you can type for backup to gurd you to the point but I can see this being a bigger problem in the console versions.

I either see soldiers doing their job really well or i'm completely out of ammo then the soldier dies then the medic runs past without a care in the world dies revives himself dies again and the operative is trying to hack a turret standing in front of it.

I often play as a soldier and while I love to give ammo to those in need, you have to remember that frag nades, molotovs and flashbangs all take one pip. If there's stuff/time/place to scavenge it isn't so bad, but I pretty much always hang around at 0 pips available just waiting for the next one with moderate usage of grenades, resupplying myself and my teammates.

When I get satchel charges I'll have even less pips to give around :D

I did basicly the same thing, Im primary medic and i was online on the defense side of the prison break map. I was healing and reving and picking off enemies with the buldpaun untill I ran out of ammo, switched to the sea eagle and run out again, rivied a soldier and crouched down behind cover in front of him so he could see my ammo(lack there of) and the ran off, I was like crap...then an enemy pooped up and i slide into him and kniffed him twice, rinse repeat till we won.

I find people are catching on real quick and going medic if they want to run and gun. So people are playing terrible medic instead of terrible soldier. In fact, I am seeing few soldiers in general.
