Sound issues

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:15 pm

I posted a similar topic in general not realizing there was a PC specific forum now. I didn't any help there anyway though so hopefully people in this section can offer me some potential solutions.

My sound will cut out randomly during games sometimes. Not all sound entirely, just pretty much anything you'd want to hear. All i can hear is faint beeping and stuff like that from ambient, environmental kind of stuff. As far as guns, footsteps, voices, i get nothing.

This happens with my speakers and my headphones which work for every other game I play. So I am wondering what the issue might be.

Exactly same thing happens to me, Sound constantly drops out and if I dont restart the game it will eventually freeze and crash.

Lots of other little issues too, dont want to hijack this guys thread.

Nah its cool. I just want a solution.

I found a site http://segmentnext.com/2011/05/10/brink-errors-crashes-ati-fix-no-sound-fix-freezes-and-fps-fix/ that has some fixes, but for sound all it says is to play it in stereo and update sound drivers.

My sound driver is up to date and I am playing in stereo. There isn't even an audio option in Brink for Mono, and my computer does everything stereo.

I have no clue what else could be the issue.

Probably just something they will have to address in a patch....when that will be? Who knows...this game is getting mixed reviews, people on Consoles hate it.....If they dont make enough money on this game they wont fix anything, no point if there is no people buying it

If anyone can tell me how to fix my sound (as i don't have any) that would be amazing. help please.

ok i tried a few things like switching to stereo, and looking for sound card updates (those are all up to date.) there has to be something else.

VOIP options do nothing to fix the sound issue

got any other suggestions?

Same issue here. The sound will cut out after a minute or so in game, with only soft background sounds remaining. The game usually crashes a few minutes later, but I am not sure if that is related or not.

Same exact problem, sound cuts out but only when i'm in multiplayer. I hear the faint beeping and ambient sounds but no regular sounds.

Try disabling all VOIP options, hopefully that will work for you if you haven't already tried that.
