This is why we have been getting terrible framerates with ATI cards. It forces some kind of high end post processing effects and it cannot be disabled. Changing it in options does nothing. If you input "r_skippostprocess 1" in the command in game in the console it says it cannot be changed in multiplayer. If you use it in the main menu it works, and your framerate goes into the hundreds but if you try to start a game or join one, the post processing gets reenabled. So to fix it they need to unlock the command so we can use it in the game and run it at a decent framerate.
Well than they need to fix it, like now, besides, many people should be able to run high quality post processing easily. This is a valuable hint, but it only scratches the surface of the real problem.

Completly true. It has something to do with depth of field. Thats why open areas get such a drop. More distance so more offsetting and blurring calculations that takes place. Its also because the game is just so damn blurry even without AA.
you would think they would test out ati cards. it seems most generations of ati have the same problem but nothing from nvidia. I love my quiet ati card and will not switch to nvidia anytime soon
I actually wouldn't say the post processing issue is just ATi, I just checked, mine stays on all the time and I'm running an PNY NVidia GTS 250, love it btw, first NVidia I got in 09, before that was always ATi
Can we get people posting their cards with this because i have a HIS 4870 OC:785/1090 512mb and i dont know what this will act like. It may cope jsut fine.
You can only change those settings (as there are a few of them like that) when you are not actively in a game. For example: Start Brink Immediately go to the video/advance screen Now change those settings and they should now stick.
