I cannot get this to start. After clicking play in the game launcher New Vegas launcher just closes, nothing more happens. I have wiped and reinstalled audio/video drivers. Re installed Steam and New Vegas countless times. I have set compatibility to XP sp 2 and 3, also tried vista. All to no success. My specs are below. WHY? Is this more common than I'm imagining??

I purchased this game Retail at midnight this morning.

WIN 7 Ultimate 64bit
ASUS 890GX Pro
AMD Phenom IIx4 @3.8
XFX 5850
4GB ddr 3

i had the exact same problem. I re-downloaded directx9c from microsoft and it worked. But now i crash during the opening cinematic. Hope this helps.
