....that the main issues we are having are understood and being looked into as well as some updates. Im sure this would greatly ease the minds of most of us and that you guys are working the problem. The main problems I have been reading have to do with NPC's bringing frame rate to a crawl and that our video cards are not utilizing all of the gpu (nvidia dept.).

The game hasn't even been released for the rest of the world yet. Obviously they're going release updates soon, but not that soon.

I just meant "Updates" on the status of their investigation of whats causing all these problems and maybe what their currently doing to fix them thats all.

Yeah, sounds like a nice concept, but the game just went gold. All the devs say screw everyone till I catch up on rest. It's amazing how simple a quick "We know and we are looking into it" is to post and how much damage control it could actually provide.

I appreciate all the hard work they put into the games, but come on. There are A LOT of people unable to play. You think they would want their game to keep a decent reputation instead of get all these people so pissed they end up telling people not to get the game or something.

But what do I know? I'm just another pawn that already paid. I don't know any stores that let you take a pc game back after it is opened.

I am so glad I didn't go to the midnight launch and pick it up. I would have been so pissed if I had stayed up just to play it and get home to this crap.

Very true, however - i did goto the midnight launch (est) got home and had to wait till 3am to play, so i did and after staying up to finally play game doesnt run right (unplayable). But thats another topic i am not hear to complain jus make a suggestion. There was a game a year or so ago that had problems and one of the Devs. took time out of his schedule to go onto the forums and "talk" to the customers and let us know they understand whats going on and they are working on a patch as fast as possible. That was extremely reassuring.

The major issue is not that the game "Doesn't run right" it's that the game does not run at all for many people who have Win7 x64. When I click "PLAY" on the launcher, nothing happens. No error message, no game. A quick look in the task manager shows that the game executable comes up and then quickly goes away without so much as a blank window. I am talking about ZERO feedback. They might have installed 4 gigabytes of "11111111" on my hard drive. I wouldn't know. Completely worthless.

P.S. I hate not getting an error message.

If not a patch, then isnt that what hotfixes are for?

Yeah at least some people can play it....I can't even get past the MOON in the intro video.

I paid $49.99 to listen to some menu music and watch a 2 second clip of a MOON?!?!

And I understand games have problems, but like the topic creator said...even a post from someone with any authority saying they're looking into it would be greatly appreciated. All I've seen so far are other users giving me their best guess on how to fix it.

If I don't hear anything soon I'm just going to request a refund from steam.

So is it confirmed that alot of this is tired into windows 7 x64? Thats what im running on as well. I read a post from someone saying hes not having any trouble running on windiws xp 32 bit and he said hes using a single geforce 8600 and the game plays perfectly fine. hmmm

Well Obsidian you should have enough information by now on what is really causing all these problems:

1. npc's are lagging/crashing games (maybe tied to the fact the game is not using the gpu as it should, i am personally reporting only 34% of my gpu being used which is a gtx295)

2. nvidia driver problem/conflict

3. windows 7 x64 problems

did i miss anything?

Yeah, this demands a hotfix. If Obsidian or Bethesda doesn't release a hotfix in the next couple of days, I'll be . . . I don't know what I'll be, but I'm losing my religion over the constant hoops I have to jump through every time a game in this engine is released.

And I definitely want word from someone that they are aware of the problem and working on a fix. Jason Bergman, Josh Sawyer, Pete Hines, Grandstaff, I don't care who. Speak up, someone. All the massive trial and error and bug fixing and diagnosis going on in these forums should help them narrow down the problem fairly quickly.

And I am amazed this never cropped up in any of their testing. Suspiciously amazed. <_<

The Q&A Folks read these boards, Gstaff reads these boards, I read these boards and pepper Gstaff with PMs (leave the peppering to me as he is getting enough already ;) )

Most of these folks sign in Invisible as you would pounce on them. But, I see them reading things. What helps is not to rant but to post symptoms and system specs and try all the troubleshooting stuff in the FO3 boards for this game. Let us know what worked, what changed, what did not work.

However the issues have to be repeatable to be patchable. I have been playing the game for about 10 hours and not had a crash or problem or even a glitch. What that means is, some problems are going be hard to duplicate as not all systems will have them. So, some things will take time to fix, some things have already been addressed, such as the Save issue with Steam Cloud. They do not have the final fix, but now you can use Continue again.
