Caravan and NCR attacking me : Fallout: New Vegas

The earlier topic was solved by removing and equipping faction armor. That's not my problem.

Whenever I get near caravan guards or NCR troopers they attack me. I have no bad faction standing with them, I'm not wearing armor that makes them hate me. What could be causing this?

I did kill the powder gangers at the prison and wiped out the khans. I did accidentally pick up a red item while in the prison.

No. I just now ran into the NCR, I just hoofed it across the map. The only thing I killed on the way was some flame raiders or something like that.

flame raiders? any particular faction like the legion, cause if you're wearing legion armor and you don't realize it, yes the NCR will own you.

I'm wearing combat armor and no helmet, mine has been broken for awhile and need to ffind something to repair it with.

how the hell did you already get combat armor i can't find anyone wearing it and its expensive as hell at the gun runners station...anyways back to your problem, are you neutral with the NCR? are you liked by the Legion somehow? this can also effect how people treat you.

flame raiders?

I was just calling them that because they are always hitting each other with the flaming grenade things, not sure what they are called, and they catch on fire. It's the raiders that wear the cow skull looking helmets, I don't remember the exact name though.

I got the combat armor off of some NPC that attacked me named cook-cook or something like that. The only reps I have is "Liked" by goodspring and "Villafied" to the khans, which is understandable since they offered me drugs so I proceeded to wipe them off the face of the planet.

Also my status says I'm "Good" and a "Ranger of the wastes".

I might have gotten off of the Vipers, they attacked me also so I took them out.

This whole thing is annoying the crap out of me though because as far as I can tell they shouldn't be attacking me and I don't really want to wipe them out.

Dont know what to tell you(could be a glitch) many people complaining that this game has glitches galore but i havent seen that many

I was wearing khan armor for a little while but sold it after I found metal armor and then combat armor. Maybe I need to find some khan armor and put it on and then take it off again, the only problems is I killed all of the khans

Is there some way to get a piece of khan armor maybe through a cheat or something?

Actually they wont re-spawn, they said over the radio in game that they packed up and disappeared, lol.

The good news is I figured out what causes it. apparently if you put on the khan armor and then changed to a different armor you have to remove the khan armor instead of just clicking the new armor or it wont remove the faction thing. very very annoying and I had to use a console command to put lhan armor in my inventory.
