should there be vehicles in new Vegas

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 6:07 am

well now I know I've heard a lot of people say they'd like to see vehicles , but I'm not so sure . do we really want to ruin the fun of running around and fighting raider's and random encounter's . I mean that like the best part of it all , but anyway tell me what you guy's think

Im a definite no for this. There really is no need for vehicles. Fallout 3 faired perfectly well without them, and with the fast travel option vehicles would be kind of useless.

Working vehicles are very hard to find, and are unnecessary. If you find walking to a place once before you can fast travel to it annoying, I suggest you do something else.

Agreed
vehicles would be pointless in this game you can easily fast travel without needing a vehicle

I would like to see them get rid of fast travel and maybe have transports in small settlements or something like that. As for vehicles if they put them in the game that's great but they aren't really needed.
Also here's an ongoing discussion of vehicles in FONV. http://www.gamesas.com/bgsforums/index.php?showtopic=1075214&hl=vehicles

I wouldn't mind....

Caravans that go between the major settlements (which would be a form of fast travel between them which would fade out and then usually fade back at the town, though sometimes it would fade back in to a raider assault (like when you get Pitt jumped only youd be able to fight back)

Inside of New Vegas slaves powered carts aka a rickshaw. These could be obviously run by Caesar's Legion and would be a quick way through the city but would hurt your karma when used. You could free them, which would take them away permanently and piss off Caesar's Legion. High enough rank would net you a personal one that you could ride through New Vegas (maybe even allow you to "saddle" an enslaved NPC, although probably not as that could be really really bad PR if the wrong soccer mom ran into it)

Maybe even a Car that could would be similar to the caravans only there'd be some settlements that were too rustic for it too reach and it would eat up Energy Weapon Ammo when driven. So you wouldn't have to pay to travel or worry about random encounters....but it would cost Ammo and wouldn't take you everywhere.

I think that would be far better than just "ka-ping" here i am
