Killing Christine...

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 7:09 pm

As the topic says. I don't have any dialogue options that don't involve her turning not hostile towards me, and me having to blow her head off, and I sort of don't want to.

Killing her?
Whenever I reach her at Vera's suit she just calmly talks to me.
I didn't even think that she could turn hostile towards you.
I guess you messed up in previous dialogue with her or something.

Possibly. It doesn't appear you can have anyone as a perm companion anyway, so it doesn't really change anything material.

Did you send her down the elevator, telling her you'd send her up as she's afraid of going down there.. and get bad karma?

That's what I did, and for some reason I had to kill all 3 of them (well, God/Dog kills himself)

I suspect that you just messed up somewhere along the line. I only had one dialogue option that would lead to her death, and avoided it. I was kind to her the whole time though, even going so far as holding her hand and telling her "we'll get out of this" before heading off to take my spot for the gala event.

On the other hand, on my only playthrough of it so far every dialogue option I had with Dean Domino lead to his death. Probably because once he told me I was setting on an explosive I was a straight up dike to the guy.

Same thing happened to me, all three skill challenge choices ended up making her hostile. Instead of shooting her, I ran away for a bit and went back to her and now she trusts me. I also did not send her down the elevator for her part in the gala opening, I set her up on the upstairs terminal.

I never found a reason to kill her. She was pretty friendly to me.

I didn't actually. I kind of felt bad for her, as she was the most abused of everyone, so I was nice (and it was difficult, let me tell you). I don't think I even took a "snarky" coversation option.

I might try what tyrannical said.

Hey I resemble that remark. Anyway Dean [censored] was the only one I couldn't prevent from killing. No matter what dialog options I followed. But Christine did all in love with me at the end, and decided to stay behind. After I finished the DLC I wandered around trying to find the snow globe. And the last of the playing cards.

Dean is really hard not to kill in general.

Also there's a glitch with the cards, if they don't add to the challenge tally when you pick them up just drop them and reloot them. I haven't tried to see if picking up the same card four times work also.

I didn't have to kill any of them. They all survived.

a pinnacle of virtue in my playthrough, though I meant to kill Dean, I thought I would see them all again before I left the area. No such luck.

Christine: I didn't have medicine to maybe heal her scars (could you do that?) But I didn't shove her in the hole, and I was very kind to her throughout the game. At the end:
Spoiler
She remains at SM as the guardian of the area. Eventually the ghost people look to her as another hologram.

Dean: I saved him from the holo-security and let him discuss how he would get into the vault. I gave him a non-commital answer and left him in the theater. At the end:
Spoiler
He goes to New Vegas (though I haven't gone looking for him yet.)

God/Dog: In a speech check, I got him to blend his personalities but he forgot most of who he was and who we were. At the end:
Spoiler
I don't exactly recall, but I think he went to the big empty or something, remembering the courier only vaguely, though with a sense of appreciation he didn't understand, or something along those lines.

You don't use the elevator, you use the door you came in through. I made the same mistake at least 3 times before I realized I could just run all the way back to safety.
