Which is your favorite kind of Fallout DLC?

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 1:47 pm

Which style of DLC do you prefer? New area DLC (like Point lookout)? Or linear quest DLC (like Operation Anchorage and Mothership Zeta)? Linear DLC is more straight forward without much exploration but it has a lot of intense combat. New Area type DLC adds new areas to explore and go over as you please.
So which do you prefer? And which type would you like to see more of in NV?

I defenitly like DLC's where i can explore the region and beable to get a real "grip" on things. Instead of doing it once then over.

My favorite kind of DLC is the kind that isn't exclusive to one platform or another. Equal rights for all!!!

The kind that adds something to the main story. Tie loose end and such.

The one that actually adds content to the actual game (without raising level cap or post-end gameplay) and isn't an arcade game.
But if we're gonna go by the arcade game DLC's then fine, I like the one's that are well written and gives me a lot of choices.
Don't care if it's linear or open ended.

I would like a DLC that adds more caves and expands the main map a little bit more, also a DLC that you can go back to after its finished.

Of course any DLC type would be useless if it hasnt been done properly.

My favourite Fo3 DLC was The Pitt because it had better moral decisions and writing then the original game. I'd like to see DLC like that. (Though in New Vegas' case, the moral decisions and writing are already great.)
I'd also like to see DLC that isn't exclusive to one version of the game.

It's be nice to have a good amount of unfamiliar territory to travel in, so open world is preferable, however I would take a well-written linear DLC over a poorly-written open-ended one.

I generally disapprove of DLC which are usually just examples of a company making extra profits on something that should have been part of the base game to begin with. That said, DLC that bring a wealth of their own unique content, made after the thought, are good. Point Lookout and Knights of the Nine are fine examples. And I want to see something large and open like Point Lookout in order to improve my low approval rating for this game.

I like both kinds but I *prefer* new areas to explore.

Open Ended. I do not feel like having to make another character each time I want to play or even visit the area of the DLC. Dead Money was cool, but I do not want another version of it. I'll be pretty disappointed if the DLC dealing with the Great Divide is a one round trip.

I like an open ended DLC like Point Lookout. Great replay value, it took 3 or 4 times going there to find and do everything.
