Goodsprings: Peaceful Solution?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:41 pm

Any way to resolve the tension between Ringo, the Powder Gangers, and the residents of Goodsprings without having a big showdown? I thought it was odd that basically the first quest in the game was such a blatant good/evil choice. I'm hoping there's some kind of 3rd alternative.

The alternative, as I gather it, is not to get involved. Not all quests have peaceful solutions.

That's what I thought. Seems a little weird to walk away and have Ringo just hide in that gas station for eternity, but that's life I guess! Thanks for the response.

Don't think I don't see where you're coming from. When I talked to Trudy and she seemed to think it'd be best for him to sneak out of town at night, I thought that's what I was going to do. Sadly, such an option did not exist.

I look at it this way. The towns people are the ones who are not organized and motivated to stand up for themselves, that is why they have to problem. I just get them organized, get them equiped then stand back and watch while they handle their own problem. After all, it is their problem.

You are still promoting violence though. Which means you are not a pacifist in the true sense. True pacifism will mean you are dinner on legs.

Not necessarily. Think of it in terms of traditional martial arts - the best defense is a good offense, and whatnot. You're not teaching the townspeople to kill - you're teaching them to protect themselves.

That being said, you're right. A pacifist is indeed meals or wheels in the Mojave.

That explains Deputy Beagle. He took a dynamite meant for me and now limps everywhere.

You can't put some stimpack into their inventory via pick pocket?

Would they use it?

No idea, my character is a friendly Kleptomaniac. He doesn't give things, he takes them... but he's really nice and sides with good usually.
