Objective vs KVD ratio

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:28 pm

A good operative will still be in the pack, but how many of you really believe that's how it'll be for the majority?

Either way, wasn't commenting on how operatives should or shouldn't be part of the pack, just on how someone said 'lone wolf', and it directly went to 'if he's a wolf, then he should be in a pack', completely negating that the main focus was on the 'lone' aspect, not the species. If you want to troll, go elsewhere, and if that's not your intent, then at least take in the context of what people say.

Not trolling, merely making a clarification. Whether you intended to comment on the Op being part of the pack or not, the inclusion of " whereas others like it (engineer, medic, soldier) are" makes it appear that way.

Sorry, a tad aggitated at somethin' else at the moment, not really meaning to jump to conclusions like that, lol. My original statement was meant to state a definition and to comment at the "lone wolf" and "if it's a wolf, it's in a pack," which deviated from the intent of using that term, which is just a meaningless play on words in order to make it appear as though a point was made.

Also, slightly ranting to stay off my boredom.

...foooooooxxxxxx :wavey: :hehe:

So we should change lone wolf to crazy as a fox? :spotted owl:

just cuz you can't see him, doesn't mean he isn't part of the pack. a lone wolf has no pack, where as the operatives are the scouts and assassins of the pack. they are meant to keep their distance, while still being part of the pack by leading the prey into the ideal position and/or situation, thus ensuring the pack's victory and gorey feast of wolfyness

Indeed.

Operatives are easily scared but they will be back and in greater numbers.

Smart operatives work with the team. Running off without support or buffs is a good way to get eaten by a bear.

Honestly the most lone wolfish class is the soldier, and by lone wolf I mean less reliant on teammates.

Actually, Soldiers are likely to be pretty reliant on medics.

No since the game doesn't track KD.

Where has this been confirmed? Developer Ed Stern says that they do track KDR at 4:35 of this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4k3MMi1G1xw

This has been confirmed for a while, they ruled it out because they thought people would focus on KD and not do objectives

Where has that been confirmed, though? It's one thing to not have leaderboards, it's something else not to have an individual stat page.

I'm not saying you're wrong, I'd just like to read/watch the official word.

They recently said they would provides certain overall stats but it sounded more like rpg style stats. They have been adamant about removing selfish things to obsess over like KD.

They better show a lot of other statistics then. They're running the risk of their game getting stale for many people without that KDR element.

So it doesn't sound like KDR in some form is totally ruled out (probably wishful thinking). I don't care if it's invisible to everyone else or you have to go to the website to see it, but I love statistics and KDR is a big one. Sure it makes many people shy away from the objectives, but I know myself and the people I play with hit objectives hard while also enjoying the challenge of keeping a good KDR. It adds another aspect to the game. Plus it's not like kills and staying alive aren't important keys to winning. If you have a couple of dominant slayers they can make the game very easy for everyone else.

That said, as long as they don't skimp on other statistics I imagine I'd get over no KDR.
