so brink has ~250k preorders across all platforms? That's pretty good, should help quell the fears of the people who are worried about the game being a flop community wise.
Anyone have any idea what the average ratio between pre-order sales and first week sales is? Can we expect 3 times as many people to buy it in the first week? Having a million copies out within the first week would be quite an accomplishment for a new IP.
Gears was pre-ordered for the sake of the beta (which is fun btw and gives you custom weapon skins that look awsome). That is why it is in 1st place.
lol yeh i got friends who are pre-ordering, playing the beta, then switching there pre-order to brink after the beta's done.Edit: thats almost 10 million dollars
I did not pre-order, nor do I have Bulletstorm. But I do have the beta.
2k made a press statement that you can flat out buy all the L.A. noir pre-LC stuff later at a pittance so #3 does not surprise me. Also uncharted will hit #1 very soon but what is awesome is Skyrim is ahead of BF3 AND uncharted.
Not exactly record-breaking numbers, but quite the accomplishments nonetheless. Hopefully it doubles at release; hey, it's enough to fill the servers anyway xP

It will do good, Brink just shot up to #7 on Top Sellers on Steam at the moment..

Up to #6 now.
It's also worth noting that there are essentially two counts of Portal 2 above it (standalone and bundle); and ARMA II and an ARMA II expansion pack, which are currently 80% off and 40% of respectively. Quite impressive, really, since as far as I know the only Steam advertisemant for Brink was a while ago. Brink is also the only game on the Top Sellers top ten list that isn't currently advertised prominently on the front page.

Not bad, not bad at all.
It's also the only multiplayer game on there that's 3 weeks from release.
But it's worth noting that the vast majority of the games on there are established IP's. The only games that aren't are NASCAR 2011 (for wii, so who cares), and LA Noire (which is being beaten despite its similar release date)
This isn't a surprise at all. I've seen Brink advertisemants ALL over New York City. Posters are plastered on subway station walls, bus sides, bus stops, and every Gamestop I have run across has it covering their windows. Even taxis have Brink ads.
Can't wait for this game to explode after it comes out.
I feel bad for SD if the sony network hasnt have gone down I am sure the pre orders would be much higher for the ps3.
Don't feel bad I'm sure that they are happy that Brink is in such high demand despite not being released yet. The fact that its only second to Gears 2 in pre-orders is enough to celebrate. Besides the ones who were going to pre-order on PS3 are likely to pick it up anyway after the network goes back online.
