Restoring Hope - Nelson Barracks Crash

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:34 pm

Hello Fallout forums! New member here, and this is my first post, so sorry if I'm doing anything wrong!

I've encountered a problem and wish to know what I can do to fix it. I've purchased Fallout: New Vegas for the Xbox 360 about a week and a half ago (I didn't download any patches or anything, because I don't have Xbox Live yet). Now, I'm currently doing the quest "Restoring Hope" which involves me and a small group of NCR troops killing off the Legion in Nelson. I tell the troops to attack from the east, and I sneak to get into the barracks where my target "Dead Sea" is in (according to my marker). Here is where the bug occurs; Every time I attempt to enter the barracks through the door (It's red, gives you negative karma for entering...), the game freezes, rendering the quest impossible to finish.

I tried to reload a save (I saved right in front of the troops who help me attack Nelson, before I said "I'm ready"), and attempted again, but 4 times in succession the game froze (the only thing to do was turn my Xbox off) as I entered the barracks.

Is there a fix/trick/help to this? Or am I just doing something wrong? This is really bugging me...

Please help,

P.S: Played every Fallout game since Fallout 2, great series!
