I've encountered far more freezes (both big freezes when I have to turn off my Xbox and small ones when I can just open dvd tray to get back to the dashboard) since the update. Most of the freezes happened in the Hoover Dam area.

What's more, I was about to exit the building today when I pressed on the door and I've got black screen with red vertical lines instead of the loading screen and my Xbox froze one more time. I'm afraid to see 3red lights in the near future :(

Can game freezes (especially the ones which require to restart the console by forcing the shutdown of it) kill an Xbox 360?

mine freezes while i'm walking. as soon as i see anyone now it freezes. i can kill like two people and it freezes. patch worked famously for a few days though. :( my game is seriously unplayable now. it's really sad. i've contacted support through email and i'm really looking forward to their suggestions. (i've tried reverting to previous saves already) before the update i had problems with the game freezing during saves... but never during gameplay.

My first playthrough freezes after a couple of hours of constant playing. I started up another game, post patch, to try to get the cheevie for hardcoe and the others like the House Always Wins that were screwed up on my firs playthrough. It now freezes every 20 minutes or so. I've given up on the game until the release another patch.

With latest patch and Dead Money. Game freezes in certain locations. I can't get to the top of Black Mountain or behind Helios One (near a cave can't think of the name).

before the patch i didn't have any freezing. Alot of bugs but no freezing.
After the patch i had freezing happening while: i waited at goodsprings, entering ANY building, and fast travel.
It would be the patch causing system issues with the 360.

I placed a fan behind the 360 to keep it cool and not overheat to aviod freezing and such... So far its only vegas.

I've also experienced an increase in freezes.
It used to be once or twice a week but now it's 3 times a day during 5 hour of play time.

Good luck to you. My 360 Red ringed after 15 hours of new vegas gameplay and when it did it froze and had those similar vertical red stripes...

The best suggestion gamesas gave me is do not overwrite saves along with do not load on overwrite saves... Since not doing so I haven't run into any freezings.

this unplayable crashfest is a [censored] abomination and should have been delayed until it was playable. bugs are one thing, and many are tolerable... but not being able to play for half a [censored] hour without a crash is unacceptable. obsidian knew this game was broken on release. i bet the developers were all lobbying for a delay, but obsidian/bethesda just said "[censored] it people are gonna buy it anyway it says Fallout on the box!"

I own Morrowind + expansions, Oblivion and nearly all it's available DLC, every DLC for Fallout 3. all great games with hardly any crashes. even fallout 2, which was considered extremely buggy on release was infinitely more stable and playable than this steaming [censored]pile of broken code. i can't do this anymore.

I WANT TO SELL THIS GAME ON EBAY BUT I'M PRETTY SURE I'LL LOSE KARMA FOR RIPPING OFF SOME UNSUSPECTING CUSTOMER WITH AN UNPLAYABLE GAME. MAYBE OBSIDIAN/BETHESDA SHOULD HAVE HAD THE SAME THOUGHT BEFORE BUTT[censored]ING THEIR FANS.

I was complaining about freezing in another topic just the other day and a guy said that "is impossible to patch freeze because there's no trigger for it." I know nothing about technical issues, but it sounds like we are all screwed.

I picked up Fallout 3 last night to wrap up Mothership Zeta and investigate the stability.

Wow. Night and Day. I played for QUITE awhile and had ZERO problems. My inventory had no leftover 'quest' items, my storage inventory wasn't full of multiple instances of the same item in same condition, my arms stayed put when I used rifles, etc.

Its crazy just how much more stable that game is.

I also get allot more fezzes after playing an hour or so. Sometimes i get complete lockups and i have to restart the system. never happened before the patch and sometimes id log 5-8hours a day with no problem. Falllout the only game i have that does it. I installed to hard drive. does it make difference?
