Stuck on Wild Card

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:40 pm

Before I start, let me say I am playing on the PS3.

So here's the situation:

1. I've killed everyone in The Fort, including Benny and Caesar. I got the platinum chip from Caesar.
2. I went back to Mr. House and gave him the chip. He showed me the upgrades and then I proceeded to disconnect him from the system.
3. I saw all the gangs Yes Man told me about and either ignored them or w/e other option was available.

Now the problem is that I do not have the platinum chip, nor do I seem to be able to upload Yes Mans A.I.

Anyone else run into this problem? If anyone has any clue as to what to do, it would be helpful. As it is, I seem to be stuck right now and the game seems unbeatable.

I'm pretty sure you don't need the platinum chip to install his AI.After you kill(Or disable) Mr.House you should be able to ask Yes Man to meet you at the Lucky 38 and it will do a cutscene where he uploads himself to the computer system. Atleast thats what happened with me. But now im stuck at the point where I have to install an over ride chip. I have to do that while I am avoiding NCR rangers...

To be completely honest, I can't answer your question but I did the same thing you thing you did in order to get the chip. However, I killed Caesar (like you) and the Chip is not on him. Is it supposed to be?

Yes, but the problem is that I can't get Yes Man to follow men. He just tells me that I need the chip or something. It would seem I truly am stuck. I was afraid of this....looks like I'll have to start over until a patch comes out.

I'm having the exact same problem now. House is dead and I try talking to Yes-Man after telling him so but all I get is 'Goodbye'

I think basically it is a bug we are experiencing due to the programmers not anticipating us gamers following their expectations. The way that I have had things work smoothly on my 2 play throughs is killing Benny at the tops, then taking the chip to house and upgrading him. After doing this you can go visit Caesar. If you visit Caesar prior to doing the upgrade at the Lucky 38 it seems to bug out the quest line.

A similar deal is if you get the quest to mercy kill the NCR prisoners and you decide to rescue them instead it bugs out the quest even if you are successful in rescuing them.

Can you post the part of the quest you're stuck on? As in what it says in the log.

I'm curious to know if these problems are well known and if they got corrected at all in the PC version. Are they even fixable? I love the game, it's fantastic, but it's broken as hell. If it were any other game, I don't think it would be doing nearly as well.
