WTF why cant we pick up after the main quest, or is that just a stupid way to sell add-ons? How could they do this?

I doubt that its a scheme to sell DLC. So much changes after the last mission that I would be very impressed if they could make a DLC which changes the Mojave Wasteland 1 of the 4 or so possible ways.

It's not some DLC scheme since they've said they won't be making a Broken Steel type DLC.
