The 188 Trade Outpost usually has a lot of the scarcer ammo. For some reason, I get more from the girl then the guy, so I wake her up if I am there at night.

best one by far is the place at the Hoover Dam. The dude sells nothing but ammo, for exmaple, .308 x500.... its crazy. Its his only reason for being in the Dam. Go talk to Colonel Moore like your going to finish the end of the NCR campaign and just take a left instead of a right into her office. Youll see it.. it might be the next door or the one after that one to your right.

Outside of him everyone else is pathetic if your looking to buy a lot of ammo.

What about advanced ammo? is it best to to buy normal ammo and break it down? or are there other things you find you can break down?

I think I am at the point where armor piercing rounds are needed.

I just spent all my cash on implants so i was looking for a place to use the last of my ammo in order to get more by way of collecting it or by killing stuff that i can then sell. Or if there is a place that I can collect items that can be broken down into ammo parts? or maybe just a ammo crafting guide.
