I bought Fallout:New Vegas on release day, as I have loved the Fallout games since the original. I took the game home, threw it in the Xbox and discovered, much to my dismay: glitches, issues and problems (oh my).
This game is broken.
I don't care who's fault it is, it could be Obsidian, Bethesda or my grandmother. I don't care, I just want it fixed.
Because this game is broken.
But... don't read this and then tell me to restart a new character or load an old save or clear the cache. None of that is the problem. It's a console platform, I shouldn't have to do those things. I've said it before and will, sadly, likely have to say it again: The game is supposed to be finished BEFORE you put it in the box.
The problem is very simple: this game is broken.
So don't tell me to AVOID certain quests if they're buggy. You're missing the point. I bought the game, because I want to play the WHOLE game. Why put the quests in, if not to play them? If I purchase a movie on DVD, then while trying to watch it discover 10 minutes of footage are missing, I did not get what I paid for. I will return the movie to the store and get a copy that contains (Wait for it...) the WHOLE movie.
Oh, by the way, this game is broken.
Don't read this and post that you didn't have any problems with the game, you never encountered a glitch and you don't know what my problem is because your game is great and problem free. Hey, if that is the case for you... good for you. But why are you telling me? IF you're not having any problems with the game why are you on these forums and not playing it? AND if you AREN'T having any issues with the game and you ARE here posting on this thread about that... I sincerely hope you and your loved ones die in a fiery car crash, because your behavior is just rude.
And this game is broken.
Before you post it, I'm very much aware that video game companies don't care as long as they get our money. I also know they will only do the bare minimum of corrections because THEY KNOW the fan base will likely buy the next game anyway.
Which leads me to believe this game will very likely REMAIN broken.
I don't want an apology from anyone. I don't want a refund. I don't want to return the game. I want the glitches and issues fixed. What I want is to play the game. What I want is some information about when I might be able to do that. What's pissing me off is the silence from anyone and everyone connected to the creation of this game. I understand patches and fixes take time, but it's been over a month since I've seen ANY new info posted from anyone saying anything about anything. This game is what? 4 months old, still damn near completely unplayable, and from what I can tell, not one person has gotten a single coherent or useful answer about anything.
Sing along if you know the words.
This game is broken.
And let's be honest, the "patch" that they did put out didn't do much good.
The game is still broken.
I am neither whining, crying nor [censored]ing. I am complaining. This is a complaint. And more to the point, I believe I have a legitimate one. Also, this is the Fallout:NV general discussion forum for the Xbox 360. So, yes, this is the correct place for this post. This post is my opinion of the situation. If yours differs, I don't care. This post was for me, because I wished to purge.
So... one more time for the cheap seats.
This game is broken.
I'm gonna go read a book.
