i have about 100 hours in the game (360). i waited until after the second patch in hope of avoiding any serious bugs.
At first everything seemed fine, and i thought people may be exaggerating their bad experiences. But the deeper into my game i got, the more and more bugs have started to crop up. i absolutely dread going anywhere near Vegas or the strip. Having to go through dozens of 'compound location' doors to get anywhere was annoying enough. But now, right at the start of each playing session, each door is giving 3, 4 and 5 minute load times. Mind-numbing. And with each dragged-out wait, i wonder if it's going to lock up again, which happens at least once an hour. No, heat is not an issue.
The drawn-weapon filling up the screen thing has been annoying, but it's not half as infuriating as the VATS bug. i cue up several attacks and engage, but in the cinematic i just stand there, doing nothing. Meanwhile my opponent just gets free shots on me. Equipment of varying quality not being separated in menus, companions locking up in terrain, or randomly freezing, or running off to nowhere. Several times i have approached an npc to finalize completion of a quest with some dialogue, and watched them get flung high into the air. Most times i have been able to use the arrow to track them down far from their required location, out in the middle of nowhere. But one time it happened, i tracked them down and found the character merged high up in the side of a mountain with no way to get to them. And in the process, i lost ED-E.
My boyfriend watches me play and just shakes his head laughing, telling me i'm a masochist to keep trying. He's right. It's just friggin' lame.
i'm reasonable, and will give people the benefit of the doubt. But it seems like the company absolutely refuses to acknowledge the problem. A simple apology would go a long way with me as a consumer. But to get nothing, in addition to the news of more dlc coming? Why aren't they channeling labor into necessary fixes first? i don't understand how the industry works. But i know how you should treat customers. And this isn't the way.
Like a lot of other college students, i don't have a lot of money. i adored F3, but i won't be going through this again. The love won't extend that far.
