New update on the way

Looks like there's a new update on the way, according to the Game Updates thread. Mentions fixes for both DLC and the game itself. I just wish the priority would be fixes for the game ahead of the DLC, but I suspect it might be the other way around.

I downloaded an update last night. I haven't played the game since the last major update. I assume that its the new one. Did the newest update release in the last day or two? The near constant freezing on my game has stopped. I am going to give it another go and hope that the bulk of the bugs have been hammered out.

I just want "I put a Spell on You" quest fixed, Motor-head's helmet being stuck in your inventory, ED-E issues, companions falling through the ground, and first person view where your arms go above your head (seems to happen a lot when crouched and using irons sights). That's most of my issues so far.

If they can just fix the broken quests, I would be happy and even think about replaying it. It is in their best interest to fix things. No company, when it comes to money, wants to look bad. I cannot imagine the embarrassment this has caused them in the industry. All we see is the consumer side of it. When it comes to business, looking bad is never a good thing. If they can man up and fix all the major problems, then I might think about buying another game from them.

I second all of that

We'll have more updates on the patch soon. Saw some people reporting that it's already been released... that was just a PS3 trophy update with no game data (and as far as I can tell, hasn't been deployed yet in North America).

Separate from this trophy update, and as mentioned http://www.gamesas.com/index.php?/topic/1123617-game-updates/page__view__findpost__p__17140585, we have a new game update coming soon to 360, PS3, and PC.

I would really like to know why this game was even released in the condition that it was in? Was it greed, where you felt that you had to beat Black Ops to the store shelves? Were the developers too afraid to put off the release? Was it pressure from the top to "just get it out there"? I really would like to know why I (and many others) are beta testing your product. I think that after all this time and all the problems we deserve some type of response as to why this was on shelves before it was ready.

Bring back ED-E (or kill him); add a button on the pip-boy to send current followers to their original places. I just want to continue the game.

I think most of the bugs come from all the overlapping quest areas (Vault 34 for example). Fallout 3 had issues in areas where there were multiple quests (Rivet City/Jefferson Memorial). I think the scripting just gets totally messed up if you do things in different order, even though you should be able to do things in different order. New Vegas is loaded with quests (more than Fallout 3) and there is way more overlapping than in Fallout 3.

As for the arms going above your head, it think it's the irons sights that caused it, but since the last update, I turned off irons sight but I still got the problem.

This game was totally rushed out the door and should have been delayed. I would rather live with a delay and have a stable game than a buggy mess. Also it seems the DLC is delayed cause you would think they would have done more Xbox exclusives then release for the PC and PS3. My guess is that the next DLC broke the game even more and they had to fix it and they might as well get more money back if they release for all platforms.

You have a point with the overlapping quests. I wish there was a way to know what order to do them without giving away crucial story lines. If that happened, it would fix things for me. I agree it was rushed. Even though it bums me out when I hear my favorite game has been pushed back, it is hard to not have respect for those companies. This game turned into KOTOR II all over again. *sigh*

I'm still very happy that we are getting updates/patches. There wasn't enough for Fallout 3 (especially for the PS3 version), there are still bugs galore in that game, especially with Broken Steel DLC.

Hopefully they fix:

1. The .44 SWC requirements bug.
2. The Cowboy perk not affecting applicable weapons from Dead Money.
3. Weapon repair kits degrading weapons with CND mods.
