Trailer: (more can be found on youtube if you search)

Warhawk was a great success on the PS3 and I played it over 1500 hours (in matches). Now that I learned about Starhawk comming out sometimes next year (probably), it got my attention for two reasons:

1) The building battle system.

-A system that lets players fast and effectively build bases, bunkers and such in the middle of an on-going multiplayer match. At first it seems like a good thing, but I was wondering if it might turn into utter chaos in the end. And being able to destroy every building in the game, makes building a bunker rather pointless, unless they can really resist a lot of damage.

2) Aircrafts are now hybrid transformer battle suits?

- If you watch some of the other trailers around there you'll notice there are battle suit guys, much similar to lost planet, running around shooting stuff and they can turn into the aircrafts which is the core of starhawk and warhawk. I have no idea if tanks are removed because of this, but if hover mode is taken away from the aircrafts and replaced with the battle suit position, it would balance air to ground combat a lot more. In warhawk, one aircraft could, if good enough, take on 16 ground troopers at once and win without losing any HP.

Have you heard of warhawk? Are you exited about starhawk? If you have never heard of it, what did you think about the trailer(s) you watched?

Starhawk will be a PS3 exclusive game and the developers know the PS3 in and out and can bring up all of it's potential because of this.

This looks like it is going to be much better than Warhawx whcih was an aight game. The build and battle thing fits this game, btu I hope other FPS devs dont get this idea and starting put it in CoD or Battlefield.

When does it come out?

I have, unsuccessfully searched for a release date. Judging from how much they have done, I'd say we can expect it to come sometimes next year, probably around summer.

I'm just a bit worried that the buildings can't take enough damage to actually protect ground troopers from air attacks, but at the same time, if they make them too powerful then the building battle could potentially block the attack of others for a good solid minute, in an instant second. There must be some kind of limit to what you can build, you should either be able to build a lot small things or very few, big structures that work well as a home base if there are a few of them there.

Hm, you know I like the look of it. I'm not really into shooters anymore myself, but I'm intrigued by this game. I've never heard of Warhawk, or Starhawk, or the lore in them, so it's interesting. The build and battle thing looks really fun, and I'm interested to see how they balance it.

Warhawk basically didn't even have a story, it was a straight multiplayer only game with two armies fighting eachother for world domination, without background story. Starhawk has a story and I'm pretty sure it will be, if not outright crap, probably a sort of solo-multiplayer feeling.

It is good to see they've balanced the Air-to-Ground combat by (possibly?) removing the hover mode warhawk was infamous for.
