Witcher 2 - Just how big is it?

I feel like I went back in time when I bought the Witcher 2 on Tuesday, £29.99 for a jam packed box of RPG goodies.. serious value for money and a rarity in the modern greed before quality market.

Anyways first thing I done was gawp at the gameworld map.... so many cities, towns, forts and villages.

However I am starting to suspect that the map is for visual storytelling puposes and the map is not fully explorable in the game and you are limited to 3 or 4 cities rather than being able to go to every locale indicated on the map.

Dont know if anyone has played enough of the game to confirm that, not that im complaining if it is as this is the best and most refreshing RPG I have played in years.

There's a Witcher 2 thread. It's somewhere on the first page.

The game isn't open world, that is correct. But you get some really, really big areas to explore, and it's more than just towns. And I second tesfanner. No need for more threads on one game. ^_^
