Want this PC but...

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 4:00 pm

So I want to start getting back into pc gaming again. I have had my eyes on a couple of pre builds and a barebone kit. I might save myself some time and get http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16883227314 pre built one. I wanted a BB kit but I might not have time to assemble it and install the OS. Any suggestions or comments or know of any other kits or pre builds that leave room for upgrades.

You really dont have an afternoon free ever to just assemble one you build yourself? You'd save a lot of money that way...
If its because you dont know how its easy to learn and a valuable skill to have for future builds and upgrades saving you even more money.

If you're dead set on a prebuilt though I'll let someone else help you with that since I havnt never bought a prebuilt gaming PC.

I have never tackled a full on BB kit before just minor upgrades. I could totally assemble one just I don't want to muck things up with my big gorilla paws. I'am very very bad at eyeballing the mother board mounts as well.

Not much eyeballing needed, turn the case on its side, screw in the ... base screw things, set the mobo on top and line up the holes :)
Once the mobo is in place thats the biggest pain done with (hs/fan is the other pain kinda)

If you want to start from scratch you cant get a more custom pc than that, and since It will probably last you years and years to come I think it would def be worth it. Lots of people on the forums are tech savvy enough to help you with it as well if you have doubts or questions.

I kind of have to start from scratch. I kinda want to start in like a 500-750$ price range then build up from there. I just want a medium range one for gaming and minor work stuff. I'am debating though on weather if I should wait for a price drop or dive in now.

I threw this list together so its a little expensive and some parts you could prob find better deals or w/e buts its a place to start. I've never bought an AMD cpu but they are cheaper than Intel and that mobo will let you upgrade to the new ones coming out soon.

I don't need a monitor I just use my TV. I find so many things getting tossed out at work like KB,headsets, some of it still in the box. I have found 3 copies of win7 64 bit getting chucked out last week.
