Will Brink get the attention it deserves?

Post » Sat May 28, 2011 2:02 pm

What do you think, will it be a successful game?
There are so many awesome games coming out these days it's quite easy to overlook and miss one.
I feel like it will start as an average AAA game about half to 1 million on the first week, but it will sell very good over time and will have a loyal base on all platforms.

I dont think it will get very much attention, sure it will stand on todays best and biggest releases at the xbox tab.
But i think it will not even get as much attention as 'call of the dead' DLC which currently has 3 tabs on xbox, which in my opinion is kina weird.. But no COD hating here, just pointing out its getting very much attention..

Really everyone! There are allready commercials, poster's are everywhere in stores (most of them)

This game has more attention them many games that are soon to be realeased, EB games has a hole rack full of Brink cases saying PRE-ORDER. This game will do fine i have faith in it.

considering that you can't see the inside of my local gamestop because of all the brink posters, and just about everyone in that gamestop can't wait to get their grubby little hands on it, then i think it will at least get the proper attention in my area.

brink might not get the same attention as Battlefield or CoD, but that is because they are recognized and established IPs. And Brink isn't the type of game that those kind of players can simply jump in and start playing. It might not happen instantly, but people will realize just how revolutionary Brink is in due time, and then it will be the One Shooter To Rule Them All

I am kind of suprised that there are no tabs for Brink on the Xbox Spotlight, Community, etc.

New Ips made by companies that aren't too popular console wise never are.

For example, look at castle crashers. Behemoth never made a game for the 360, microsoft ignored them... then... surprise! It ended up being one of the most downloaded XBLA titles. If SD wants to take a tab they'll need to make sure Brink does good for the first game's lifetime. If it does then you can bet there will be quite a few highlights for the sequel. (If there is one that is)

I have a feeling Brink is going to take a while to pick up the crowds, but it WILL have a wide appeal, and it will do amazingly over time.

in a sense yes but in another sense no. I have seen advertisemants in a magizine, on a website, on tv, posters at gamestop and on a billboard so its getting around and almost everyone has seen it but my problem is that its not getting much help from reviewers/previewers brink has only been talked about in a few magizines and not even mentioned(though there was an ad for it) in gameinformer(which is the bestselling game magizine) which is one of the reasons i overlooked it. secondly, it has a horrible first impression (well atleast for me and my friends) i watched a trailer and read the discription on gamestop (and on gamesas) and the game seemed to be a regular shooter and it doesnt really mention how the game works so i overlooked it several times and i saw another add and on the bottom it said bethesda which being my fav game dev(and now producer) I decided to deeply look into it which i think most people dont. I think that if it made better first impressions it would have been widely talked about but anyhow it will sell in time. Though what scares me is that game informer will rate it low as most of their ratings svck and they tend to be [censored] which alot of people myself included use gameinformer as an epic shopping catalog.

Teamwork is a foreign concept for most console FPS players, so itll probably go the way of Shadowrun. IE: Solid core players but not as popular as the "LOL ONESHOT YOU WID A KNOIFE" or "GRENADE SPAM FTW" games.

It should at least have 7 billion.

But in all seriousness, I do not really care. As long as I can find games I'm good.

I think it will get the attention it needs

but not the CoD or BF attention

TBH i don't care if I jump on Brink on Tuesday and not see 1million people playing,
and the same, if I see only 1,000 players online

I rather have a strong and loyal small community then an annoying and whinny large community

As long as i jump into a lobby and get full teams on both sides I'm happy

because we all know the number of players will drop when MW3 and BF3, and even Gow3 comes out (so many 3's O_O)
and that is inevitable

but for me i will be part of that small and loyal community that will be playing this game

plus i see over time that there will be maybe 150,000 to 120,000 players after it levels out, and im find with that

I don't care to be honest. I care about the quality of the gamers, not the quantity. I'd rather play with only 1000 total Brink players on 360 that actually are playing the right way compared to 1 million people thinking that it is TDM with parkour. :spotted owl:

I don't get it, the poll title and thread title are about if the game will get the attention it deserves and the poll itself is asking how many copies the game will sell. Depends on if the game is good enough to deserve that amount of money, how it is recieved, ....

eh, i lost interest.
