Potential sound fix

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 5:19 pm

I have got my sound effects working (i.e. gunshots). In the falloutprefs.ini in my documents\my games\falloutnv
underneath the sound section is this iMaxSizeForCachedSound=512
the initial value of this is 256, at least so far increasing to 512 is working

you may have to hit esc to get it to kick in after firing once

The more I see settings for the game come through the forums the more I see a straight 360 port...

(Like how the mouse is setup to be 25% faster on the X axis than the Y. So more or less, setup for an anolog stick on a controller)

This sounds like something good for me to try when I get home though, thanks for the tip!

(the mouse settings are ;)

fXenonVertLookSpeed=
fXenonHorizLookSpeed=

They are different by default, set the to something like 1200.0000

Thank you, initial tests indicate that this does seem to work for me. I can fire my gun and not wait 15 seconds to hear it! Thanks!

I'm having the same issues with gunshots and dialogue and this fix isn't working for me.

Wow, sorry to hear it's not working for others, this just shows really how difficult debugging games for PC's can be as this obviously is caused by multiple issues. That said, I am extremely grateful for the fix as the game runs beautifully now. Thank you to the OP!
