I just had a quick question that hopefully someone can help with...

In the Heartache mission where you need to convince Cass to follow you to Jean Baptiste I am having a bit of trouble. I've done all the subsequent missions and have Cass to the point where I just need to convince her to come with me. But she refuses to turn over the rights to her caravan company. I know you need a good speech or barter skill... my speech skill when i talk to her is 49/50 so it seems as if that would be enough to convince her, but she still won't follow. Are there any tricks, or something I simply haven't done? Does my reputation matter? Thanks

Good God. If it says 49/50, then it is pretty damned self-explanatory. You can't go, "Well, I'm pretty close, so it should work."

Having said that--get some skill magazines that apply to barter or speech which will up your skill by 10 points OR, even easier, take some mentats or psycho, which will increase your charisma temporarily, also boosting your speech skill.

Yea...well I realize it's "pretty damned self explanatory" but with all conversations you can usually convince someone without having your skill maxed out. I assumed that 49 out of 50 was enough to convince her, but I was just asking. I'd mostly read that getting a companion is based a lot on your reputation and karma. Don't be a dike.
