It's not not in the game because bethesda are dikes, it's not there because it'd be pretty much unworkable. Even not giving people any way to share mods, someone could really screw up their game.
The consoles barely have enough RAM to run the GOTY edition as-is (Only partially because the engine isn't as optimised as it could be, there's a lot of data it's loading), add too much and you'd get naught but a crashing game - so you'd still need to buy the PC version to do anything beyond minor stat changes to items.

ps3 creation kit where is ours  :P
Anyhow just kidding on that , Microsoft and Sony don't allow 3rd party content being added on their systems . Most likely modding for consoles won't happen for a while. And it doesn't really matter anyhow.

In this case I disagree. There's a high chance of one's save being corrupted by a poor mod, and you wouldn't have any of the tools PC gamers have to correct it. It could cause massively more harm than good - and even then, the vast majority of PC modding tools are player-made. It's just the GECK that isn't, mod managers, script extenders, so on are all very important parts of the modding landscape - and none are particularly possible on console. it's a logistical nightmare, and we're not even considering sharing them yet (Who'd host them? Who'd moderate them?)

if xbox and ps3 got mods on games, what would be the use in PC's? Plus Live and PSN ban modded content as it is, but sure excpetions can be made for thigns like this.

Nothing won't be done for it for most likely till we get the next consoles which seems to be in 5-6 years. The consoles can't handle it definitely not the 360 can handle it. Ps3 might be able to handle it but Bethesda already had enough problems even making the game work for the ps3 in the first place. Before even trying to get the GECK on the consoles you would be breaking EULA which means jail time which is no fun.

...I'm not a PC gamer for mods, don't worry. I wouldn't go to consoles if they had one less disadvantage ;)

I am sure it would be nice but unlikely to occur. And it's not up for discussion on this forum, since modifying your console voids the warranty and goes against the EULA, if I am not mistaken.

The PS3 and the 360 do not have the computing power, mostly RAM limitations, to run the GECK.

This is the main reason why it will not be offered, or developed for Consoles. Couple that with the issues getting community made mods on the consoles means that console players will not be able to run an editor. Ever.

Bottom line, if you want to Mod a game, then you need a PC.

I will close this now so someone does not come along and say something that will get them in trouble, as "Just mod your console so you can use Mods" or some other such statement.
