DLC Ideas For New Vegas

Post » Fri May 27, 2011 10:50 am

I posted this in another thread but I thought it would be cool for everyone to list their DLC ideas instead of everyone just making fun of one persons idea. So try to keep the flaming comments to a minimum.

It's always been a joke about digging a hole to China, right. So your hero is walking along and he finds this circus tent out in the middle of nowhere. He steps inside and finds this massive hole in the ground with a track and rocket car pointing straight down. It turns out that during the war against China, a group of crazies thought that they could dig a hole through the center of the earth into China as a way to supprise attack them. Well, it turns out that these crazies weren't so crazy after all because once they had made their way to the core the U.S. Military decided this was actually kind of a good idea and decided to fund the project. You later discover that the rocket car, that makes the journey through the center of the earth take a day or two instead of weeks, was a way of transporting troops right to the center Shanghai. The journey for this dlc can't be just a black screen, then poof! you're there. along the way the rocket car runs out of the centuries old fuel was left in it, right in the center of the earths core. The military's way of getting through the core was to build the tunnel out of diamond which they had a ridiculous amount of, just laying around. So you can actualy see the center of the earth. anyways, you find some fuel then get back on your way through this tunnel. Finally, a day and a half later, you make it to Shanghai which of coarse is also in complete and utter ruin and almost seems deserted until you find the top quarter of the Shanghai World Financial Centre (cause the rest of the builing has collapsed) and inside, taking refuge, is a group of Chinese people who you think are the only people left, but you come to find out that you are sadly mistaken...... and Bethesda takes over from there.

Am I the only one who's wonder whats been going on in China all this time?

I for one am very curious bout the current state of China/Europe/Russia. I know Europe wasnt really hit but they did fight among themselves though.

On the DLC content I think we should have a DLC trip to Area 51 if its too far to have it included in the main map.

As far as other DLC I just dunno, dont have an idea for any DLC stories. One could be using a vintage dam buster to blow a hole in Hoover Dam but I dont know what the point of doing so would be other than to get the chance to use a primative WWII weapon.

Why have it as a DLC? It would make a dungeon worth searching in-game! We dont have the game yet so instead of thinking "good idea for DLC" I'd say incorporate it in already to the main game. Your idea for Area 51 is brilliant, maybe you'll encounter aliens inside, find their technology, find records on computers and most of all, LOOT. I like the idea of trekking through Area 51, blasting some aliens and finding valuable loot to sell. hell, even fly to the moon in their space ships! lol, maybe not.

Anyways, my idea for good DLC content/already in the game; Hmm, i'dunno. Maybe a whole new worldspace, size of the D.C wastes maybe, not the size of george town and called it "Pittsburgh"

My orignal idea was to have the west coast BOS base located deep within Area 51. Its only fitting that their search for technology would lead them eventually to a test facility for experimental planes and weapons.

The alien Idea I had though was just minor but it could be handled in numerous ways. I thought of having a UFO design as described to have crashed in roswell (the UFO in real life was never kept at area 51 it was flown to dallas then on to the east coast) located in some hidden hanger under ground with surface access. The facility wasnt hit by bombs but from shear age parts of the ceiling collasped down atop the remains of the wrecked craft (simmilar to the "devistated" state the Wright flier was found in at the musuem of Technology out on the east coast). Alien bodies wouldnt be found other than a room that looks very similiar to the hoax alien autopsy video and a skeletal remains of a "roswell grey" alien on an operating table with three human skeletons laying on the ground in the same room.

On the loot, I was thinking new experimental energy weapons not seen in other games as well as tried and tested weapons and armor that had upgrades that was kept at the facility. Would be a candy store for those that like the high tech weaponry and armor.

Now I would love to see this all in game but I would settle for DLC considering Area 51 is a good 85 miles north-northwest of Vegas and I just dont know how huge the map is gonna be other than its going to be the same as FO3.

I've got great idea!!! NO DLC!! That game hasn't even came out yet, and you want DLCs already, maybe instead of ideas for DLCs you will post some ideas for the game? After game will be released you will (hopefully) have lot's of time to post here your ideas for the DLC's.

I completely agree that there should be some DLC involving China, really what have they been up to. Maybe there's even a Chinese Enclave thats preparing to invade the US. Thats just one thought that has probably been thought of by someone at Bethesda already. I'd be really interested to see the commonwealth and maybe free some androids with the railway, but that would probably be too far to travel for New Vegas. Really just seeing more of the advanced tech from there that Zimmer mentions in Fallout 3. But any DLC that involves either China or something outside of the standard American Wasteland would be cool.

Did you not notice that all the DLC's for Fallout 3 took place outside of the DC wasteland? That's the point of these DLC ideas, to travel to another place in the world. And the reason they're DLC's is because missions like these are to big to fit onto the game itself. The DVD discs that game companies use are only roughly 8gb for the XBOX and PC. Bethesda is probably going to use every bit of that disc space for the New Vegas wasteland. And besides, there's plenty of threads already discussing in-game ideas. Think about this logically before you post a stupid comment like that. You're probably a PS3 owner and don't like DLC's cause you have to wait until they come out on disc. hahaha

Please don't start a stupid discussion about PS3 and XBOX 360.

Am I the only one who would prefer it if they made a new game afterwards, or a actual expansion than waste time on a tiny DLC that barely registers on my radar?.

OK, this thread is done. I allowed it in addition to the threads on whether or not we should have DLCs because this was supposed to be a thread about what DLCs you wanted.

Clearly, this thread has degraded into something else entirely.
