On-topic: yes, as the knowledgeable Mr. Sawyer pointed out in another thread, it's likely that a large number of firearms in a post-war world would be from private gun collections. It seems like it would be pretty realistic for some present-day guns to still be around and potentially still in service. They should be rare, though.
