Why take our stuff?

Does anyone remember why Father Elijiah took all of the items in our inventory

man why does every DLC need some sort of bad excuse to take our things.

Thank goodness for modding.

For balance perhaps?
Wouldn't exactly be any point to have new enemies if we can bring our top tier weaponry with us.
Next thing is that we can't go back and we won't be able to carry too much stuff with us for the final part. Just best to take away our stuff so that we can bring our new toys with us home.

I like having everything taken. It makes it more challenging and special.

Yea I wouldve finished Dead Money in 2 hours if I had all of my Stimpaks and Weapons. I did some research and its some kind of self sustaining society with no foreign objects allowed. It was a lame excuse to take our stuff but it added some challenge.

I always thought it was to save time during debugging, but that's just a guess.

'For the challenge' is a pretty good reason, too.

Does my nut in everytime a casino confiscates my stuff... I can understand why, it makes perfect sense, but hot keying all my weapons again is a pain in the ass

Yeah, I hate that. It's why I never go to the Silver Rush, either.

I have a container in my shack with my Casino Gear (Vera's suit, holdout weapons, etc); whenever I need to enter Gomorrah or the Ultralux I do a quick change. Saves a lot of tedium. Except hot-keying. Still have to do that.

Considering all the loot we bring back from DLC areas taking are loot is kind of helpful.

Even playing field, plus easier to balance since you can control exactly what resources the player will get for the challenges you set.

I'm glad it takes my stuff.. In fact it makes me run back to my residence and dump all my gear because I know there's no use for it while I'm in the DLC. This allows me to carry as much out of the DLC as possible. If I went into the dlc with all my gear I'd have no room to carry anything out. I guess it doesn't actually matter if you plan on stealing all the gold.. Your going to have a long weighted down walk back.

Once you do the guard duty quest for the silver rush, they never disarm you again, you can wander in there freely with all your gear from there on after.
You can also grab everything, put it behind the desk where the gap is for getting behind it, and crouch down then steal it all without losing any karma.
They also have all the stuff still for sell from the vendor (van graff sister) and dont bat an eye lid as long as you remain hidden whilst stealing it, which is easy.
Just save it before you do it, and during, to save the guard catching you as he walks round.

You can sometimes drop your weapons just as you enter a casino, or fortification hill then get told to hand over all your stuff,
And just pick it back up once they're done talking to you

The old quatermaster trick from Anchorage! I never thought of that.

I usually carry stuff to the restroom when I loot the Silver Rush (not in a while) but the counter would work, too. VanGraffe = Perception 0.

I've never done their quest line. I always seem to end up ignoring or killing them.

I just wish we could revisit the area to harvest more throwing spears.

They are difficult to come by if your pro-legion.

because the dlc would be to easy with your guns and things im on ps3 so dont have it yet but im hoping if i have the missing Laser pistol on me it will stay because its a quest item as are the ncr guns in camp searchlight only thing is if you kill the prospectors the ncr guns stay in and add weight. can an x box player tell me if the laser pistol will stay. i also saw a video on youtube and someone had the alien blaster on him

Lazy. If you can't challenge us with the gear we got then you fail as a game designer. End of story. If I wanted to play a new game I would have bought a new game.

i agree im disappointed that the ghoul reavers from fo3 are so easy to kill in fallout nv 2 shots and down they go but in fo3 it was hard even with the alien blaster
