Could you guys do it quickly? due to the steam requirement and the fact that I may not be able to play it because of that (Steam has screwed me over before, my $50 copy of Empire: Total War still won't work), I have to wait for the game to drop in price, probably a year like I did with FO3. I'd very much like to get a full golden edition, with all DLC, so...yeah. it's be nice fi you guys could do that quickly for your faithful fanbase (FO1, 2, 3 fan!!!)

Did you contact Steam customer support? Call them on the phone or email them? Follow all their troubleshooting FAQs?

If you can run games like Fallout 3, there is no reason your computer can't handle steam, which means there was some kind of simple error or misunderstanding that they would probably fix for you. Steam has pretty solid customer support. Waiting for years (because it will be at least a year before enough DLC is released for a GOTY, if they even make one) is kind of cutting off your nose to spite your face. No reason to miss out on the release!

Why do some of you get games on Steam? Is there nowhere you can go to buy the games in-store? I don't feel like I actually, really, genuinely have a game until I can hold it in my hands. I think the game will take a while to drop in price.

If you want the DLCs quickly you might want to enter your cryosleep chamber and wake up when the GOYT edition is out

The disc itself is no more "the game" than the box. It's a storage medium, nothing less, and sentimentalising that for some reason is your problem, not mine. The data is the same, whether it's being read from a disc or streamed down from Valve's servers.

well steam does have its advantages.

i can play my games on any system anywhere (as long as said system can physically play the games)

i dont have to worry about loosing game discs or keys

i dont have to worry about reformatting or changing to a new computer

i dont have to have a million cds and cases for games taking up space

although i dont always get games from steam...ive never really had a problem with one that i did.
